I think the password is not correct.
You are correct by thinking it is not correct

Just look for your password under "Benutzer" it is there in plaintext and reenter it in the Transfer Dialog.
It works, so I goofed in the password (the error message doesn't help much)

Many thanks for your kind help.

New firmware and you try to upload your project? I think the password is not correct.
    ?!?
That's very possible, I haven't done a firmware upgrade since years.
I have an understanding problem about passwords.
I know there is a password in the project, but it is compared to what ?

In other words, how can I recover the situation ?
NB: Uploading the project via RS232 works fine.

Maybe I could use the new standalone application "HS Transfer" but it expects a .hst file.
How could I prepare such a file ?

Anyway, a well written application should check if the pre-requisites are met before running.
    I sign that

Hmm seems you lost your Remanent Data
    I did a backup.
I think the UZSU is remembered in the Remanent Data. I checked it, looks fine

The Error looks like the Project wont fit somehow in the HS Memory
Indeed, but given the Debug/Memory stats, I wonder if it is the real cause.

    Do you use Quad?
    No

Make a Backup of your Projekt and remove some stuff
    OK, thanks, I'll try.

The xxAPI has nothing todo with this.

Now try to download by Lan.
    No go !
Still same error while downloading from LAN.

Is this behaviour specific to me or does it happen somewhere else ?
Any hint as to how to troubleshoot ?
I've no reason to suspect my LAN as it worked fine for years with ver 2.5

The only thing a bit "special" I have are the xxAPI, but I don't see how they could influence a download.
Btw, they work fine, I like the feature to look at "List" from within a Visu page. I was scared to loose them in the upgrade process.

As an aside ... when I start the HSclient, I first get a special "xxAPI" page before my Visu home page. Is that normal ?
Btw, the HSclient is no more in the 2.8 distribution. The ReadMe file points to the 2.7 directory (I was just about to delete it)

Everything looks fine, don't worry. Now try to download by Lan.

The calculation of project size has been changed in 2.7 or 2.8, now it is "more real".

That looks like the initial way to upload a project.
    Ouups (dummy at work here)
Never done it for a project, only for firmware.
    It worked fine.

    @Matthias
Do you think I've a memory problem ?
My project is not that big.

Can some one tell me what's going one, please ?
If a download works via RS232 and not via network, it looks like it is network related, any thought ?

I guess the next step is a download via the net, but I'm scared.

Let the "Experte" in this state and reboot the HS by pressing the Power Button.

During the startup the Serial connetion will start.

EDIT: If you have a huge Project this may take a lot of time. Thats why i recommend you to create a small Project with only essential things like IP and User to fasten up the Projectupload over serial and then upload your "real" Project as usual.

For project, you will have to use the ORIGINAL cable.
OK, but I think it is the original one.

I meant also uploading the Project over Serial
    Oups !
When I try, I get the message:

    Gerät bitte neu starten
Looks like a dead end !

Did you upload the initial Project after the firmware update with RS232?

Create a small new Project with ip and usernames only to spped up upload over serial and then update your original Project over network.
No, I'm unable to do it, it fails exactly at that point

    That is an interesting hint!

Uploading Firmware and project is different. For project, you will have to use the ORIGINAL cable (or a similar one). Standard RS-232-cables do not have all the necessary wires for hardware handshake.
