I am/was convinced about a configuration problem, bad syntax, bad FTP path, missing "/" etc... the classical errors from dummies ...
But you are right, I have to take it more seriously, which implies an adequate setup for sniffing.

I've setup another FTP server on a good old W2K.
Manually uploading files works fine.
Nothing comes from the HS.
This brings me back to the HS.

Let's forget about the Remanentspeicher for a while.
A simple FTP doesn't work either, might be easyer to debug.

Can someone provide me with the most simplistic setup for a FTP transfer ?
The one that couldn't fail ?

You can change to "everytime/jedesmal" = every 15 minutes

or

No, not yet, but I was thinking along those lines, especially a NAS access rights problem, or another subtle change introduced by a NAS firmware upgrade (it's not the first time they mess around).
So, I'm setting-up another ftp server.

Is there any way to force a save of the Remanentspeicher ? besides waiting 30 min ?

Yes. No go.
To make sure, I force the KO FTP-Status to an irrelevant value (i.e. 9) after a while it is reset to 2. So 2 is the real status, and means "nicht speicher".
Doesn't help much.

Also, someone hinted for a hardware problem.
For me, it is hard to believe, nevertheless I swapped the memory bar.
Could it be the flash ? only for FTP ??? Mmmm
One fact still puzzles me: my problem appeared around the same time as I did the Pimp procedure. Maybe coïncidence.

Did I forget to check something ?
Troubleshooting procedure wrong ?
Any hint is welcome.

Hi,

I'm still stuck with the 10 beeps problem.
So, I start from scratch again.

(1) FTP setup, password OK
(2) Remanentspeicher setup, password and path OK. Status-Object enabled, cycle=2min
(3) Check FTP from a DOS box. copy file to/from servr, OK
Wait 2 min
check NAS file system, no go
check NAS log, OK
check HS Debug FTP: Error (4)
Remanent-Speicher: Error (5)
check qHSMon: Status-Object = 2, Error (6)

Any comments, please ?

As I remember, beeps via PC speaker during reboot are a BIOS functionality indicating an error. Usually a broken memory bar.

I've heard the beeps again, after having changed the memory bar.
btw, it's more likely to be 6-8 beeps rather the 10, as I said before.

So it's more likely to be a FTP problem than a Remanentspeicher problem, but in my case it is the same.
Remanentspeicher is saved via FTP.

Any hint please ?

Hi,

I'm still stuck...

I think I've done my homework, but no clue.

I'm very concerned about those 10 beeps, they occur +/- 10 min after reboot.
Maybe this issue is related to the ftp not working (same problem?).
Also, the Webabfrage from the Moxa 5110 doesn't work anymore. After detailed troubleshooting with the excellent Moxa support, the problem seems to be the HS (same problem?).

I'm considering changing the 2 memory bar as hinted above, but so far I've been unable to locate a reseller of SDRAM PC133 compatible with a VIA board.

In my case, it is about Ten single beeps

Is it the same ?
I mean is it clearly a FTP problem ?
After double checking my settings, I've still no clue.
