MIFARE badge reader programming WITHOUT proprietary software

    Hi all !
I am designing a knx home automation system for a B&B, where the accesses would be controlled by KNX Mifare badge readers.

Among the various knx products / producers examined (eelectron, abb, vimar gewiss, ..) I have noticed that all of them require the use of an ADDITIONAL program, usually very expensive, for programming the readers; Basically, the program loads the idbuilding and pwd reader, and also performs the function of room supervision (loads activated, accesses engaged, access logs…).

Instead, I was looking for Mifare readers that were configurable and programmable (with the relative idbuilding and pwd) directly from ETS, avoiding having to purchase a special program.

From my point of view, considering that the badge reader must work even if the PC-server is down, the app logic (with pwd and buildingid) must be stored into the badge readead as an appmodule….. this should be possible ALSO with the ETS….

Here is an example of a Mifare reader documentazionehttps://www.gewiss.com/content/dam/gwdam/FILE/ZMN/GW1x681_Manuale_Tecnico_EN.pdf

At point 5,2,9 … 5,2,11 it shows that a comunication object is sent to the reader by the knx bus from a special software, containing the key data to check the card…. Should ETS be capable of sending the same comunication object ?

    Have you faced similar solutions?

Have you found products & manufacturers that offer a configurable badge reader without additional software but only with ETS?

    Thanks for your help !
