In case you haven't noticed, the new firmware is released for the DCS-IP Gateway of Gira (v 3.0)!

Honestly, after a quick test, I am disappointed:
* Skype integration can only be enabled via you client-side DCS-Communicator. So you still need to have your computer (or Gira Control Client) active in order to take advantage of Skype... This makes the functionality pretty useless to me. I'll stick to the limited functionalities of the IP Phone/SIP integration.
* The upgrade promises "Windows 8" support. I have installed the new DCS client on my Windows 8, and -although it is technically compatible- Windows 8 is not really supported. The DCS Communicator is only available in the desktop-modus (not in the metro-interface). So if you work in the metro-interface (which you are supposed to do in Windows 8), there is only an audio-indication that someone is at your door... No improvement compared to version 2.25...
Gira has been promising a lot of new features since the Light&Building of April 2012 (yes, one year ago). And now they come with this... Sorry, I was expecting more...
