I got a 1GB RAM and a 8GB Flash (100/200/3800/3800, slave)
I followed your procedure:
point 4, I had to use a DOS 6.2 diskette for format, but OK
point 5, SYS D: and restore works OK, 1st partition is active
The flash is in slave mode. I see the files on the first flash partition
When I try to boot, I get a prompt: GRUB

Should it be bootable at that point ? maybe my flash is too big ?

I guess the boot device should be HD1 (slave) not HD0 ?

RAM type is given in my manual: kvr266x64c25/512 works fine in my server.
Flash is given in #10: DiskOnModule PQI, IDE, 128 MB - Computer und Zubehör - Hardware - Festplatten / SSD - Pollin Electronic

But 256 MB, 512 MB and 1gb will work also fine.

Maybe, but I've nothing against companies making profit and providing value added. This is my first request to Gira in 7 years, I think it deserves a reply.

Ordering from a trusted source, I'd get the right component first time and certified to be compatible with my motherboard. Having the HS on the bench, open since 3 weeks, waiting for the right component to arrive is not a funny perspective. I don't understand the "cloud" surrounding those references.

I think, the 3 Euro Pollin Flash is a very good offer!

Das war auch ein genialer Schachzug, einen Homeserver 2.0 Net und einen Homeserver 2 Net zu bauen, damit sich keiner mehr auskennt. Es gibt ja so wenige unterschiedliche Ziffern, da muss man schon sparen...
