Furthermore, there's a ready to use image for the Pi available, including Smarthome.py and Smartvisu.
This might be a much easier start than building everything on your own from scratch.
Btw.: Has the "7700" in your nickname anything to do with avioniks (squawk) ?

What to prefer for controlling a KNX installation from a Pi....
I plan using SmartVisu for visualization, and i can see this app supports both LinKNX and SmartHome - can i get some inputs for whats works best?
