CentOS 7 auf APU2C4 - Installation klappt nicht

sieht besser aus. Habe nun wie Du geschrieben hast, unter Netzwerk den Punkt 8 nicht aktiviert. Jetzt läuft die Installation.

Fertig! Installation von CentOS und anschließend Edomi 2 ist durchgelaufen.
Es scheint alles zu funktionieren:

Na jetzt noch 5-8 und dann wird mit "b" installiert. steht doch eigentlich alles da. Das 3 und 4 zwischenzeitlich wieder weg waren, war hier auch so. Kommt irgendwann wieder. Bei der Netztwerkkonfiguration durfte der letzte Punkt nicht aktiviert werden, dann passierte auch genau das.

Mache ich natürlich. Anschließend kann ich unter 4 auch die "Software selection" auswählen. Es wird auch die CentOS minimal gefunden:

Danach wähle ich 5 aus und wähle die unter zwei stehende SSD mit 64GB aus. Wenn ich jetzt alles bestätigt habe, war in diesem Fall Punkt 3+4 wieder leer. Dann kommt der Fehler mit dem nicht vorhandenem "mountable devices).
Spiele heute schon sicher seit 8 Stunden rum. Alle Varianten waren nicht erfolgreich....

Ja, die ISO habe ich zweimal auf dem Stick. Einmal entpackt und einmal als ISO. Ich wähle die zwei zur Installation.
Anfangs findet er alles aber später ist der USB-Stick und auch die lokale mSata nicht mehr zu sehen. Anfangs schon:

Ausgeschaltet habe ich natürlich schon ein paar mal.
Mache jetzt mal für 5 Minuten aus.

Hast Du die iso auf den Stick kopiert? Dann musst Du die "2" wählen. Wenn er hängt, alte IT Weisheit... Aus-Einschalten Im späteren Verlauf sind auch mal Wartezeiten von gefühlten 10 Minuten dabei, länger aber nicht.

Hallo nochmals,
ich habe nun folgenden Stand:
Eine Installation von CentOS7 startet mit den oben stehenden Einstellungen für die syslinux.cfg.
Damit komme ich einen riesigen Schritt weiter.

Große Probleme hatte ich noch im Installationsfenster. Nachdem ich das Netzwerk konfiguriert habe,
hängt sich manchmal der Installer kpl. auf und reagiert nicht mehr. Dann muss man abbrechen.

Ein weiterer Fehler ist, dass die vorher bereits ausgewählte "Installation source" (mein USB Stick) verschwunden ist und auch nicht mehr auswählbar ist.
Er meldet dann "No mountable devices found"
Dies geschieht ebenfalls nachdem das Netzwerk oder die "Installation Destination" konfiguriert wurde.

Scheint ein altes Problem bei CentOS 7 zu sein: https://www.centos.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=46994
Warten von 2 Stunden hat mir aber nicht geholfen.
Damit geht natürlich keine weitere Installation.

I have now installed or updated EDOMI on several different hardware / VM. Up to now I didn't have to change anything afterwards. You can set up the network interface during the installation.

It would be nice if we could alter the CentOS7 installation file in a way that no one should have to use a stick anymore it's more convenient and quicker I think.
The only thing is to get the network interface up and running.
I don't know if it's possible, I am not an expert.

I am sorry for the confusion.
I did not install it on a APU2C4, I have a different device but could not install EDOMI on CentOS7, not by stick and not via the internet.
I tried installing EDOMI on CentOS7 by stick according the manual, did not work, after that the same installation on CentOS6, no problems.
After this, I installed again on CentOS7 but now tried it by network instead of using a stick.

As I said, the link provided tackles a certain error and might not be the right answer for his problem but could help others in the right direction.

But this is not the solution for an APU2C4. You will need a different installation routine. The APU2C4 does not have a graphics card, so the OS must be installed from the console. Therefore some adjustments are necessary.
Or how did you install it on such an APU2C4?

You download CentOS from Edomi homepage, during installation you set name edomi and password you like.
Firstime you startup you get the same error message displayed in the link: https://superuser.com/questions/1022...ing-in-cent-os
This is the common message because your network is not functioning properly,
If you get other error messages then mentioned the answers in the link might not work for you.
You have to change this setting for CentOS-7 version, the ONBOOT=No is located in a file like /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-enp0s(1 or 3), this depends onthe ethernet connection you are using,I edited that file to ONBOOT=yes .
You also have to edit your /etc/resolv.conf file and add this line: nameserver 8.8.8.8, then try again.

You can check your router to see if you have a working ethernet connection with CentOS.
You proceed as mentioned in the installation manual.


If you fixed your ethernet connection you can use WinSCP on your windows computer to get in your CentOS files.
Files in unix/linux systems can be edited by using vi commands: https://www.guru99.com/the-vi-editor.html

I am not used to work with unix/linux also so if I can do it you should be able to get it working too, success

Would you be so kind to post some links or a short description how you installed CentOS7?
My old APU2C4 is my Backup for Edomi since I am using my NUC with docker for that. About next week I want to Upgrade my APU2 (BIOS) and clean install CentOS and Edomi 2.0. So I'll run into the same problems then.

I installed CentOS 7 according to the manual provided by Gaert, however, I also got error messages. It turned out that you have to change some settings inside the CentOS files. Network settings have to be changed and baseurl is not working because the lines are commented, I found solutions for this on the internet. To get all off this working you have to poke around in Linux files with vi editors, could be too much for a windows man. By the way, I used the manual with the option to download it, so without using a stick. I used WinSCP to get remotely into CentOS. Everything is running fine now.
