Which GA's and ojbects do I need for Visu?

    Hi Guys,

I will do my request in English, since my German is a bit rusty....

I am planning on creating dedicated group addresses for the status of lights in my house so that I can have a nice and reliable 'Visu'.

Now I have been looking at my ETS equipment and it turns out that my ABB dimmers have quite a lot of options for controlling/showing the status of the lights, see screenshot:

I am not exactly sure what each of them means or why there are two object options/objects for showing the status/brightness of the dimmers.

Since I don't want to overcomplicate things (I have several dozens of lights to add), is there anything to say about how many/which objects/GA's I need as a minimum to fill the Visu?

Thank you in advance for any pointers you might have.

    Best regards,
    Perry

if you choose "via sep. object ..." you will have a dedicated status-value - exact what you need for the visu...

It won't matter on which way you change the value of the "set"-object, the sep. value will show the actual value

it depends on your visu and your preferences. if you want to get a quick feedback you should use the object which sets the dimm value. if you want to see the real value only you should select a dedicated object for the dimm status.

this difference is only relevant when you send dimm values on this object, too.

in general 2 objects are not needed but sometimes necessary, e.g. when you use several group adresses to set the dimm value for groups of dimmers.

Thank you for the answers. I think I will go for the separate objects (I have a number of my lights directly controlled and also included in scenes).

I am assuming that I will need the separate status objects for BOTH Switch AND Dimming value (in other words; the Visu is not clever enough to know that a lamp is OFF or ON by just interpretation of the Dimmer value and that it needs a separate ON/OFF status to show the 'lamp icon' on the Visu correctly in the ON/OFF state)?
