    [EibStudio] - √ - EIBStudio start-up issue

I noticed that EIBStudio does not start up in case there is no U-drive mapped on my Windows PC.
Only when a U-drive is accessible it starts up and creates directory
    U:\bin\Eib\ with following files:
    eibparser.exe
    HandbuchEibPC_DE.pdf
    HandbuchEibPC_USA.pdf
    nconf.exe
    and started up.

Is there any way to set the default path for installation of these files?
The U-drive is already used for other purposes (office network drive) and cannot be easily remapped.

The U-drive (I think you mean the Users-directory) must be acessible. I'm sorry there is no other way.

Do you refer to a Windows drive letter when you say U: ???

I have Eibstudio installed on my windows drive with letter F: and it works like a charm.

Could it be that you do not have write access to this U: drive?

Did you try to install on a local drive (e.g. C?

Seems I was not clear enough...

Let me try to clarify: when trying to install the EIBStudio on my Windows drive with letter D:\ I got a quite cryptic access denied exit code and operation failed. It was not clear from the code which access was failing.

However today I found that it tried to write to a drive with letter U:\ which is normally not there on this PC. When mounting this drive to my backup disk it started up and created additional files. Is this done intentionally or due to my PC configuration?

EibStudio need's to write in the User's directory, normally something c:\documents and settings\UserrName
I wonder, why your system links this to a disk called "U" in your case. It surely is a specific problem of your system (which OS do you use?). There is an shell-Var, which tells the path to the users' home. You should use standard setting or change it for EibStudio.

I am using Windows XP and indeed found an environmental variable pointing to U:\ . Changing it does fix the problem.

            Thanks for your help!
