    basic connection questions

Just received the eibPC. But how should it be connected?

    1. 24V
I have a Siemens 6EP1332-1S442 which outputs 24V/2.5A. Can I connect this to the eibPC?

    2. LAN
I have also bought a Siemens IP interface. How should it be connected to the eibPC? When I connect the IP interface to eibPC through a patch cable, how can I connect the eibPC to my lan? When I connect the eibPC to my lan, how should I connect it to my knx backbone? I was surprised that the eibPC has only 1 lan connection, this doesn't seeem logic when you want to use the build-in webinterface.

The only way I can figure out is to connect through a serial cable with FT1.2 and use the lan to connect to my router. But that was not what the sales person told me!

    Tx for your help -Ivan

Sorry, I can only answer your second question.
Connect both, the EIBPC and the ip interface, to your LAN.
So you can connect from your PC to the KNX and the eibpc can connect to KNX.

      Will work without any problem.

tx for your answers. I feel very stupid that I didn't think of connecting to the router.

I guess I can also use the Siemens 24V/2.5A to power both the eibPC and the new Siemens ip interface,

You should have received a manual with the EibPC which describes, how to connect and which power supply to use. If not, go to
enertex bayern gmbh :: startseite and download.

And yes, you can power it with 24V/2.5A. Of course, it will only draw about 0.063A.

If you are not familiar at all with electronic stuff of this type, I recommend contacting your local electrician.
          Gruss Pio
