Hello Community,
after long thoughts and researches on how to control my keymatic I would like to hear your thoughts on this solution:
1.) Mount an Code/RFID/Fingerprint sensor with Wiegand interface outside
2.) Connect the Wiegand to a seperate RaspberryPi(pi1) via 2 wire
3.) analyse the results on the pi1 (optional) and
4.) forward them via LAN/WLAN to the REST service of my homematic Server (also Pi
i2)
This looks for me like a
- universal (I can react on all inputs from external sensor)
- cheap (sensor 80EUR, Pi 40EUR)
- secure (sensor can´t be simply bypassed) solution and could be one of the key solutions for Homematic.
For 3.) I am not sure if I have to have a user/action database on pi1, or if I just can forward the input to pi2
For 4.) I have security concerns, maybe someone can give me a hint how to encrypt / secure the rest communication
I found several ressources on wiegand api s/codesamples looking promising for me.
So please share your thoughts in first place - gerne auch auf Bairisch
If anybody can help me with programming the implementation I am more than thankful.
