EXSYS USB powered hub

I saw on https://github.com/mknx/smarthome/wiki/SmartHome.pi
that "a good usb hub e.g. EXSYS" is recommended.

Is the Exsys EX-1177 a good candidate ? Any recommendation ?

I checked the list of 'verified' usb hubs on:

but cannot find any Exsys hub...

Yes ... used it with a Alix1D, a RaspberryPi and now on a AtomBoard ... i miss your concrete question ... what should it be used for ?

I wonder if there's a specific model to use or any model can be used with raspberry pi's, beaglebone black, ...

Can I go with an USB 3.0 hub or a USB 2.0 is required ?
