    [Elektro] motorized curtains (Vorhangschiene)

    Hi,

Someone having practical experience with motorized curtains (Vorhangschiene) ?
I understand I've to use standard Jalousienaktor, that's no problem but what about the motorized curtains ?
    What, where to buy ? 24V, 220V ? any e-shop ?

I've read about MHZ (they look good) Somfy Glystro and Glydea, but nobody wants to sell me this stuff (maybe too complicated for a simple soul ), so I'm looking for an e-shop

    Any comment/recommendation, please.

    Correction:
The Somfy Glystro doesn't exist anymore, replaced by Somfy Glydea (since 12-01-2010)

    Hi,

I've finally found a doc about the Somfy Glydea.
    http://www.automatedshadestore.com/s...structions.pdf
The motor has a RJ45 connector, in the doc it looks like it is possible to control the motor with dry contacts (CW, CCW, Common).
This implies having a second cable (for control) besides the power cable, not ideal . I would prefer a simple 4 wire motor and a standard Jalousieaktor, 220V.

I think a Jalousieaktor would not work, as it usually supplies 220V on one output or the other.
If I'm right, this thing needs a dual port Schaltaktor with potential free outputs.

    Any comments, please ?

You are right, it's very dumb that the product isn't dumb.

Although you could feed a Jalousieaktor with the voltage of the motor and not the 230 V it won't help you much - you need three chanels and not the two of the Jalousieaktor.

All you can do is to use three normal Schaltaktor channels, use a Jalousieaktor and try to convert that signal with a few relays, or use a diffent product for the motorized curtains.

        Mmmm, looks too complicated/too expensive.
I think I'll forget about Somfy and their s#@&e of IO-HomeControl

I was digging in the MHZ site (not easy) and found this, it looks like they have a model with a 4 wire motor , but I have no clue about how the setup is done (maybe the timing of the actuator).

My main problem is to find a place where to buy it
I've tried the export dept of MHZ who pointed me to the distributor in France who pointed me to some resellers who have never heard about MHZ. I fail to understand this marketing model.

Yes, on page 46 (i.e. 6) the picture on the top looks exactly like the thing you want and that a Jalousieaktor will handle

Building my flat here I also came across lot's of companies where I wonder in which century they stopped thinking...
