Hi,

I seem to remember a post about "Steckdozen" controlled by TCP/IP IP.
With my lack of the right keywords, I can't find it back
Any pointer, please ?

For a friend's project, I'm looking for a way to replace a conventional switch with a "box" which I can remotely control via any means (IR, radio, IP/WiFi, CPL etc), without re-doing all the wiring.

Ideally, the box would talk IP and be able to be controlled via an iPhone/iPad application.

I personally use the inexpensive Netio 230a. They got 4 ports and they can be controlled through a web-interface and a set of TCP/IP CL commands!

You know, the problem when learning a new topic, is the lack of reference. In this particular case, I couldn't match the explanations I've read with the device behaviour I had at hand. My main problem was the lack of support for scenes in old devices (plus a big mistake in my last test ).
I added yet another actuator, taken from the production line (Merten UDA 649315), it worked first time.
Also, the "scene newbee" was confused by the different docs/explanation available; sometimes they talk about scenes stored in a PB, sometimes stored in an actuator without clearly saying which is witch. It turns out, it's not the same.
I'm still working on a doc to put things straight, under review. If your french is as good as your english, you might want to have a look at it. Your feedback would be highly appreciated.

Of course, you could switch lights, just pay attention to the maximum possible loads. If my memory serves me right it was rated at 4 amps.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I went through the same set of problems when I started configuring KNX scenes. And there’s truly a lack of documentation out there. I've been meaning to write my own, but never got round to (I may still do it at one point).

Thanks!! I’m afraid, no! My French, despite of 3 years of compulsory lessons at high school, is useless. Can’t even order a beer without getting funny looks and no response (and usually no beer)! Well, why not write it in English and present it to the forum?



Anyway, I'll keep you posted if I should come across some useful material!

The original purpose was to help a member of the french forum who was struggling with scenes (now I understand why). Personally, I don't use ETS scenes at all, I always found them cumbersome. I prefer the HS sequences instead of scenes. They are a piece of cake compared to the ETS counterpart. What I dislike the most with the ETS scene, is the fact that all events take place at once, Blam, you have it ! (although some actuators allow for delays). I've setup a sequence "HomeCinéma", which dimms the lighs, close the curtains, downs the screen, lights the beamer etc, in an orderly sequence spread over 1 minute. I think such things are not feasable with ETS scenes. Heck, the HS should have some added value !

ûh, I'm scared. I don't want to be nailed on the forum's front door .
There are people here who are light-years ahead of me, and much more competent then a dummy scene-newbee like me (self promoted to level 3 newbee).
Although, I've nothing against the idea, but I first want the doc to be reviewed, just to remove the most stupid things I've written
