    [Elektro] WAREMA SMI motors

    Hi there,

Sorry to write in english; I'm a french guy, and I don't speak german. I'm looking for specific informations about SMI motors on WAREMA sun blinds. I hope someone will be able to help me. Feel free to delete this message if you don't want foreign language here.

Does anybody know if it is possible to make the WAREMA tuning cable (ref 616227)? This cable has 2 buttons: 1 rocking button for up/down movement, and 1 programming button.

According to SMI specifications, it is possible to drive the motors by sending the line (230V) on the I+ or I- signal. So, the WAREMA cable is maybe only passive stuff. The question is : what the programming button does? Is it also some short-circuit between SMI signals? Or does this cable contain electronic, sending SMI comands on the bus?

The programming button is mainly used to set the up/down limits.

    Thanks!

    Hi
I know from a different installation - other vendor - that they where 2 cables: one pure passiv as you describe (230v to I+ / I-) - and a separate one with an USB connector to the pc.
We used this for initializing the motor addresses (with the software from SMI, not vendor specific). In this phase the motors links the individual IDs (like an mac address) to a SMI-ID (somthing between 0 and 8 or 15 - dont remember exactly). This should be possible also with the KNX/SMI interface but is not very good documented...

    Good luck
    Thorsten
