Seen it before. Even had the chance to have a deeper look at the inventers fair in Chicago.

They do not disclose the electronics part, so we will have to see how it works out in real life. Especially the effiency might be questiable.

If I remember well, the article says they are working on a dimmable version.
So the answer would be: currently, No.

For me, the interesting part is 12W=100W in a E27 socket.
Maybe the first viable alternative for E27 lamps (I don't consider the E27 halogen bulbs as a viable) alternative)

I would buy at least 20 Retrofit-LEDs if they really have the same luminance as a 100W bulb.

I didn't see any 100W replacement before!

Or does anyone know a similar LED?
