    Long booting time

    Hello,

I'm helping my friend with his KNX system at home, wich was installed in 2008, so it's almost 10 years old.
The problem is when the earth circuit breaker have cut off power and then restored, the KNX is dead, nothing in the house is working, for up to 10 days the system can be down and all of a sudden start to work again. the longest time the bus have been down is 20 days, but mostly around 7-10 days.
There's no server installed, everything running on TP, actuator to actuator.

I'm thinking it's time to replace the KNX power supply?

Have you guys any other suggestions?

Hi Mani, well its time to do some serous trouble-shooting. 20 days is very strange.

It could be the power supply, but also a short in one of the modules. So first think is to measure knx voltage - power supply alone (after start up) and then with the system connected. Do you have access to ets? If you have a chance to connect small parts of the system, it would be good, so you can pin point the problem into a small section of elements.

    good lick

      KNX needs no booting.
If you own a ETS, so start the Telegramrecorder and switch on the circuitbreaker.
Have a look at the Source of the Telegrams.
      Please shoot a picture here.

Problem solved, every time I cut & restored the power supply the bus hung up, when doing a reset on the power supply it started working again. I tried this atlest 15 times and always the same. So I replaced the PSU and did not manage to replicate the problem with new PSU.

the PSU was a 320mA with 37 devices, a little bit hefty. New PSU on 640mA.
