    Yet another Visu

    Hi,

    Yet another Visu.

The demo is available at: http://ziki.net/knxweb.htm
Original thread speaking about the topic: http://groups.google.fr/group/domoti...640c11d48b2a70

The application is still under development (Linux) and will be published under the Open Source agreement when released.

    Raymond,

nice, very nice! I would love to that Visu working together with misterhouse. Unfortunately I could not speak french. Would you be so nice and give those developers a hint to misterhouse?

I would love to work on bringing those two great opensource developments together.

      Not a problem I guess.

Also, there is another guy (there are 2 guys working close) developping a supervisor with about the same specs as the HS.
It is the first post of the thread I mentionned

        Platform for Visu

        Raymond,

I took from the threads (that you linked to) that knxweb (the application that uses eibd to connect to the bus) actually runs on OpenWRT (Linksys WRT54GS).

Can you confirm that the Visu application can run on the same platform (WRT54GS) in terms of hardware requirements?

Ce superviseur web est vraiment interessant, quand j'utilise deja Leibnix sur un WRT54GL. Malheureusement je ne parle C++ (que Leibnix necessite) aussi bon que XML et PHP.

        A+

          Hello,

knxweb is using linknx (http://linknx.sourceforge.net/) that use eibd to communicate with the bus. linknx is running fine on a wrt54gs and on a classical PC, knxweb only needs php5, so, It shouldn't be a problem to run it also on the wrt54gs.

            Linknx

            Hallo,

I'm the developer of linknx and I can confirm that it's running fine on my WRT54GS. But Linknx is not the vizualisation interface itself, it's only a daemon that stores the current state of group objects and allows to configure rules (actions to execute depending on logical conditions and timers). It also provides an easy way to read/write group object's value and to manage the rules configuration using an XML based protocol. That's why Ziki is using it for its vizualisation tool (Knxweb).
The Knxweb sources are not yet published, Ziki will do it when he feels the level of maturity is sufficient.
For the moment, I'm using a much simpler vizualisation web page written in PHP and running php4 (shrinked to the minimum) on my WRT54GS. The problem with a full blown PHP installation on OpenWRT is the size... My linksys has only 4Mb flash and
most of it is already used. That's also why I didn't consider using Misterhouse, because installing Perl is also consuming a lot of space.
But if you have a device with 8Mb flash
            it's probaby not a problem.

The idea behind Linknx was to make it as lightweight, flexible and robust as possible. That's why I leave all the complex vizualisation functionalities to other components of the system.

            MfG,

            Jean-François

              Hi,

looks very promising, especially as I'm still searching for an OSS solution and being familiar with PHP! Unfortunately my hous will take another few months until I can start implemeting the EIB-visu but then I'll definitely have a look on this project.

                  Hi,

I have no news from Ziki who is develloping knxWeb. I'll try to contact him to see what's the progress. I'm also very interested in the result.

                  Gruss,

                  Jean-François
