Hi everyone.
I was wondering... I currently have the following door communication system from Gira https://www.eibmarkt.com/cgi-bin/eib...t/View/N780347 but this doorpost just stopped working all of a sudden. The video still works, so I assume it has to be in the electronics of the speakermodule. If you look at the images, they're all seperate modules, connected together with some cabling.
I have sent it back to Gira support to have it checked out, thinking this would be a simple (and cheap) fix, but hey was I wrong
Gira let me know that the device was "unrepareable" but the made me an offer for a new one, with a reduced price (860euro), only, this isn't actually a new device, but a refurbished one.
Am I missing something here? They cannot fix my device, but they can offer refurbished ones? If they just replace the speaker module/pushbutton module, this cannot be hard to do, they just bolt on with a couple of screws and wires...
So I was thinking... I don't want to pay 860€, but what if I bought the following device https://www.eibmarkt.com/cgi-bin/eib...t/View/N780344, the same as mine, but without video, and I transfer over the speaker module and the pushbutton, would that work? Really hope so, as this only costs me around 365€, more than half the price Gira is asking me to get it fixed!
If you look at the 360° pictures on the links above, they are identical! Every connection is there.Or do they "protect" themselves against this, by blocking the video- and systemports on the device without the camera?
Hoping someone has an answer
