    HS/FS Webabfrage doesn't run anymore

    Hi,

    I've a Webabfrage which doesn't run anymore.
It used to run without problems since 3 years. It's based on a Moxa 5110.
The funny thing: it does NOT appear in the Debug ! just as if it doesn't exist !
When I click on the button, to launch it manually, the button color change quickly (just the same as my Menü button) but nothing happens.
Without the debug data I cannot troubleshoot.
    I'm stuck ! Any hint, please ?

NB: I've other Webabfrage (weather forecast) which run fine
NB: Ver 2.5, xxAPI 1.0, no QC

      Right !
In fact, I was hoping for a known problem, something you guys have already seen 10 times and a reply like "you dummy have forgotten ..." (I'm mostly interested in the 3 dots )
Also, I haven't changed anything regarding the Webabfrage, so, I was either looking for an external cause, i.e. 2.5 or/and xxAPI.
One thing to mention, the Webabfrage goes about port 4001
      Also, when doing:
      telnet 10.0.1.199 4001
shows a continuous data stream, so, I think the input is correct and the "Xmit" LED on the 5110 blinks, showing network activity.

But... suppose I've completely messed-up (I'm very good at that ), do you see any reason why my Webabfrage doesn't show up in Debug?
      Beats me !
A major mistake would have been catched when downloading the project, but as I said, I haven't modified that part of the project since long.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my problem.

If you cannot see your Webabfrage in debug, it won#T be executed, imho.

Have you checked this first? In Webafrage there are two additional commands (Tab Befehle), so you can set an internal KO when it hast been performed (with/without success).

Are you sure that you send "" + CRLF to the server in order to get the result?

Try Matthias´ hint and/or trigger the query with a button in "normal" Visu.

            I think so, too !

I'm doing this in all my Webafrage: set a flag "OK" On for success and set the flag Off for failure.
Didn't think to set a flag to check for execution, so in both cases.
Done it, the flag has NOT been set, so I conclude that the Webabfrage is NOT executed.
I'm manually clicking on a button to trigger the Webabfrage, it is not executed.

No, I'm not sure as I've no tools to verify, so I trust the software.
But in that case, the Webabfrage would run and fail but show-up in Debug, right ?

              Some more troubleshooting

I've copied the origial 2.5 ajax.js back in place
Usually, I lauch the Visu via a shortcut on my desktop. I've several of those shortcuts
              1) "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" http://10.0.1.249/opt/hsav/xyz.htm the most used
              With this way, same problem
              2) "d:\Documents and Settings\Internet\My Documents\HS+FS Experte 2.5\Tools\client\hsclient.exe" 0 Mysite user password
When passing the first screen (xxAPI) I can see my Visu. I click on the Webabfrage, it works
The previous attempt, from 1) above, which was pending, now shows the correct result

I've copied the modified 2.5 (xxAPI 1.0) ajax.js back in place
              1) "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" http://10.0.1.249/opt/hsav/xyz.htm

              Tentative conclusions:
the problem is not related to ajax.js
it works with the HS client
it fails with IE, so it looks like a IE related problem
              Btw: IE8 ver 8.0.6001.18702, update 0

From previous attemps to solve this problem, I came to the conclusion that I'm the only one having this problem, bizarre !

                Anyone having this config
                HS2, Ver 2.5, xxAPI 1.0, IE8 and doing Webabfrage from a Moxa ?

                  Hi,

Anyone has an idea why a Webafrage is working fine when launched from the HS Client, but doesn't work (nor appear in Debug) when launched the Ajax way ?

I checked the settings in IE8, but couldn't pin-point any wrong setup or security related issue.

PS: I see the topic is marked as "gelöst", but it isn't really, at least not for me
PS: is there an easy way to disable xxAPI without un-installing everthing. Putting the original Ajax.js in place didn't bring any result.

I disabled xxAPI-init by putting the regular start page in the admin profile.
                    No result.

I checked the "Event Viewer" hoping for error messages.
                    Nothing.
The tab "Internet Explorer" is empty, this makes me think that logging for IE is not enabled.
Any idea on how to do that ?
I've found an article about the registry and Application Compatibility Logging but it's not available

Btw, it's about XP Pro, ver 2002, SP3, IE8. Seems to be the latest version as I haven't seen any patch/upgrade for XP

                      Hi,

What would be the conclusion of such a result ?
It looks like the problem is "outside" the Webabfrage ?

Yes, sure, but isn't it a paradox ?
there are 4 lines, they work all 4 !

Is it so that "Work 4" means all 4 lines are working
or does it mean it fails at the 4th ?

What can be so different for a Webabfrage run from within the HS Client (working) and the same Webafrage run with Ajax (not working, even not executed) ?

Could it be a security problem ? access rights ? if yes, where to start ?

                            Thanks for any hint

                              There can't be a difference!

The Webabfrage is generated and performed by the HS. There can't be any influence by the client program (exept the trigger event). It will always run the same. A Webabfrage will also run without any client, isn't it?
