HS/FS IP Configuration

Hi.

I have a HomeServer 3 which I was using together with a Weinzierl IP Interface (not router) and EIBD for the routing part.

Now I have exchanged my Weinzierl with a MDT IP Router.

I thought that with an IP Router you would not need the EIBD anymore but the fact is that I can't get a connection without it.

I tried putting the router's IP on the 'IP Routing Multicast address' page of the Expert but it does not work. Only the system multicast address works (224.0.23.12) with EIBD running.

Any help?

Does the ETS work with the MDT router?
The HomeServer needs the Routing-Address.

The HS uses Multicast (224.0.23.12). You have to disable the Routing from EIBD, or shut it down. You dont need it anymore. In your case you have 2 Routers (eibd, MDT) in one Linesegment. This is not allowed.

I only enabled EIBD because it didn't work without it. Using 224.0.23.12 without EIBD gave me no connection.

In the expert Software is 224.0.23.12 the right IP, not the IP from your MDT IP Router! The MDT Router is also listening to 224.0.23.12. In this case you should disable the Routing function of your EIBD.

No go. Without EIBD I got nothing.
Could it be the router's configuration? It is configured as 'Use System Broadcast address'.

Which PA ha sthe MDT Router? It should be like 1.1.0.

I think it's 1.1.120 (on the same line as the other devices - 1.1.x).

However... now that I think of it... the PA led on the router is off.
Perhaps there is something wrong with the device programming. I'll check it out later.
