You better don't do that... Otherwise anybody could change your Knx Configuration!!
If you wan't to do so use a vpn connection.

    Hello,
    yes, this sounds logical.

But how can I connect my Android phone to the VPN channel from the fritz box?

AFAIK you need rott access to your phone to install an OpenVPN client.

        KNXDroid

        Hi together,

I´d like to upgrade my KNX-System with an IP Interface / Router so I can use KNXDroid or any other Android-App (OpenRemote) with my HTC-Desire.

I just want to use my Desire to switch some lights / lamps On / Off or dimm them, let my shutters open or close, nothing big for a newbie like me.

First question: Do I actually need an IP-Router (for example N146) or is an IP Interface enough?
It´s possible that I would like to upgrade my KNX-System with a Visualisation later so would it be better or necessary to buy an IP-Router?

Second question: Is Yogi still developing the App. I wrote him an Email last week, no response yet?

Third question: Does anyone has an installation working with a Fritzbox / VPN and Root-Android-Phone? If yes, please let me know if KNXDroid is the right now the best solution for Android. If I understand it right OpenRemote needs a running Server and is not for free.

        Thanks a lot.

        Matthias

I can only try to answer the first and the last question:
          - a KNXnet/IP Router or any instance of eibd should do
          - OR reads like being OSS/GPL but I have not i/A to try out (and I don't care because Java is -well- not mine, I rely on W3C-Browser-things without special "Apps")

            KNXDroid still being developed ...

            Hi mdietl,

An answer to your second question:
I send an email to Yosi yesterday as I had the same question, and he replied immediately. He sais that the KNXDroid is still under development and he now is training another developer to help working on the KNXDroid app.

              knxdroid finds no ip-router,
also the manual entry of ip does not work -.-

              my Routers: IPR/S 2.1 AND bab-tec eibPort

              HTC DesireZ -- Android 2.3.3
              KNXdroid v. 2.1.5
              WLAN AP/Router: Buffalo WHR-G300NV2-EU Nfiniti

              send telegrams/programm etc. via ets3->wlan->ipr/s2.1-> bus-devices WORKS!
@work i can connect to our Gira HS3 without problems (WHR-G300NV2...)

(i disabled the "Snooping" & "Multicast Aging Time" in the settings of my Buff. WHR-G3....)

              UPDATE:

now the KNXdroid found both devices (ipr/s 2.1 and bab-tec eibPort)

BUT no connection possible, knxdroid says: "connection failed
              unknown error"

                  Hi all,

I have the same problem as pilot35i, since I first installed KNXDroid on my Samsung Note in Jan-12. The KNXDroid detects the IP-router, probably based on the broadcasts that IP-router periodically sends. I've been tracing the ethernet traffic, but I haven't seen anything sent from KNXDroid to the IP-router. I asked Yosi about this 2-3 month ago, but I never got any answer.
I'm now using the free KNX Controller app; it's primitive, but it's working.

Anyone else having better results using the latest version of KNXDroid?

                  Kind regards
                  Preb

If you ask that way: I never had any problems which werent fix(ed/able) using a browser based Visu on many Androids and other devices using a browser..
Its not as cool as having an specific "App" for each and every End-devive&Version and Screen-Resolution, I know, but it works wonderfully on any device, also after the Update without any "Appstore"

no idea why it is there and whether it works.
