    Installing Siemens N148/22

    Hello,
I'm trying to install a Siemens IP interface, N148/22 under Windows 7.
The device requires the module WinPc.
I've read the doc and installed the related softwre WinPcap-4.1.2 and WinPcap-4.1.3 (version WinPcap-4.1.1 is not supported)
The Siemens doc Nov 2015 calls for "Firmware Download Tool for IP System". I'm unable to find it.
The Siemens web site doesn't reply since 3 days
In the same doc there is also a recommendation to drop WinPcap in favor of Nmap, the installation procedure hangs at the end.

Someone has a pointer to the modules WinPcap (ver 2 or 3) and "Firmware Download Tool"

    Thanks

    Hi Warichet

What do you actually want to do with this interface?
I use it since many years now and I have never installed anything. It is literally plug&play. From my perspective, the Windows Version has no influence. I used it with ETS4 on W7, ETS4 on W10 and now ETS5 on W10. The Interface was always found by the ETS without any interaction from my side. AFAIR, there wasn't even an application necessary to load, but I might be wrong.
It works flawlessly with EIBD and KNXD on several Linux machines as well.

Do you want to use a special application other than ETS on a windows system which needs WinPcap?

    Cheers

    Martin

Just as described in the Siemens's pecs, that is 4 Tunnels, and an Object server

      > The Interface was always found by the ETS without any interaction from my side
Sure, I guess you've upgraded, step by step, hence you didn't stumble on any issue.

I did the move because my RS232 interfaces (Merten, Hager) are no more supported.

      > Do you want to use a special application other than ETS on a windows system which needs WinPcap?
No, not realy. Those modules are pre-requisite (If I could get rid of them :-(

Any pointer to "Firmware Download Tool for IP System Products" ?

      Thank you for your reply

        Correction !
By forcing the DNS parameters to a static value, it worked, at least for the download
