Program IP interface

Since 2 years, I have used the Siemens IP interface "5WG1 148-1AB22". So far, I have connected the interface to the KNX bus and it automatically got address 1.1.8 as local interface. The IP address was assigned through DHCP.

Because I moved to a new router on my network, the IP address changes more often than before. Because this is not that easy (each time I have to manually change the IP address in the eibpc connector), I want to assign a fixed IP address to the Siemens interface.

I've imported the Siemens ETS drivers and created a new bus member. ETS assigns automatically address 1.1.8 to this new bus member.

Next, I change the parameters of the Siemens interface to a fixed IP address.

Finally, I want to program the application. I connect to the bus (through the 1.1.8 local interface), but when I click on "program application", ETS gives the error "Het individueel adres is reeds aan de lokale interface toegekend".

Translated ETS error message (through google translate, so I'm not sure if this is 100% correct translation):

perhalps this: The Inferface must be programmed only ones via access "local". If this is setup correct, you programm only via "via bus" .

I tried two options by connecting the Siemens IP interface to my computer directly (so without a router):
- with a cross-over UTP cable
- with a normal UTP cable

Each time when I click on "program the application" and select the option button "local" (instead of "via bus"), I get the error "".

hi,

for your "IP-problem" first of all please let your router allocate the IP-adress of the N148 through the MAC-adress of the device (DHCP bind IP to MAC: look for something like this in your router). Thus you allways have the same IP for the N148.

For the problem with the physical adress i have no solution for you. I use the N146 (IP-Router), but i also have a serialinterface from ABB. The first time i programmed the physical adress for the N146 through the serialinterface. Now it is a backup only.

der Buslinie angeschlossene Busgeräte bereits genutzt
werden. Diese Adressen werden bei der Adressvergabe
nicht verwendet.
Durch Hinzufügen weiterer Busgeräte zu einem späteren
Zeitpunkt könnten eine oder mehrere der zusätzlichen
physikalischen Adressen doppelt vergeben sein. Wird
die Programmiertaste im Betrieb länger als 10 Sekunden
gedrückt, werden alle zusätzlichen physikalischen Adressen
in der IP Schnittstelle N148/22 auf den Ausgangswert
(15.15.255) gesetzt und die Programmier-

LED erlischt.

Zuweisung der IP Adresse
Bei Fragen zur Einstellung der Parameter IP Adresse
des Gerätes und Subnetzmaske, sowie zu DHCP sollte

im IP Netzwerk oder durch das Gerät selbst (AutoIP)

DHCP Dienst erlaubt Änderungen der IP Adresse ohne
Konfiguration des Gerätes mit der ETS. Zur Konfiguration
des DHCP Dienstes wird die MAC Adresse des Gerätes
benötigt, die auf dem Gerät aufgebracht ist. Ist ein
DHCP Dienst nicht verfügbar, sucht das Gerät sich eine

eigene IP Adresse (AutoIP).

Additional individual addresses are either assigned with

device itself.
The automatic address assignment for KNXnet/IP
Tunneling and ObjectServer is started when the
learning button is pressed during normal operation for
more than 5 seconds but less than 10 seconds. The
programming LED flashes during the address
assignment process. The device checks which
individual addresses are already used by other bus
devices connected to the bus line. These addresses are

not used for the address assignment.

By adding additional bus devices at a later time one or
more of the additional individual addresses could be
assigned twice. When during normal operation the
learning button is pressed for more than 10 seconds all
additional individual addresses in the IP Interface
N148/22 are reset to the default value (15.15.255) and

the programming LED is turned off.
