KNX/EIB Logitech Harmony and KNX

Hi,

I just got my Logitech Harmony 600 Remote, and did the setup for my HomeCinema, no problem.

I've still have one free channel and I wonder if I could use it for KNX.
I connected to the myharmony site and tried to add a device.
I tried:
Merten 622846
Merten 622844, no luck

I've read a couple of posts that make me think it is possible but didn't get the details.

Any hint, please ?

NB: sending LG or Yamaha codes from the Harmony through the IRTrans is no problem.

I'll try to make myself a bit clear (what a challenge )

While sitting in the HomeCinema room, I want to beam a Merten 622846 and switch on the light

NB: all lights are controlled with sequences via the HS, but, as an exception, I may want to switch on a single light with the Harmony (just as it was a Merten remote control).

Does it make sense ?

No idea about the Merten, might work either but using IRTrans->UDP->(whatever)->KNX is a pretty simple, stable and clear path
(if all components exist already anyway at least)

I made it work, based on a tip here
The trick was to enter the reference of the Merten remote control i.e. 570222 (not the KNX PB device).
I'm disappointed by Logitech's support, upon a request for support, they promise a reply within 48 Hr, well .....

I realize your solution might be better. I think I've all the pre-requisites.

You said "pretty simple", well, I've put my remaining neurone to work and got no clue

I see a problem going from IRTrans->Ethernet/UDP->HS
With the Logitech Harmony, I can beam any KNX IR device, also via IRTrans, but there must be some form of "intelligence" to translate a packet intended for a KNX IR device into an UDP packet intended for the HS.

No idea about how to do that.

A hint is mostly welcome, maybe a Christmas ?

Hmm, there is even a PDF with exact instructions on IRT-HS with UDP on the Website, it works fine, so I need a little more indication where the problem is

I've probably put both feet in same shoe
In the living room, I've an IRTrans 10.0.1.197, the one I'm beaming at.
In the tech room, I've an IRTrans 10.0.1.198, the learning device+DB

I need a little more indication where the problem is

I've an understanding problem.
Within IRTrans GUI, I've created a new entry "knx-merten"
I've done the learning, at a learning device, via an original Merten RC, and created 10 entries labeled 1 to 10 according to PB 1 to 10
I've flashed the codes in the DB, I think it is OK.

With the web interface, I've connected to each IRTrans and enabled IR Relay and UDP 6600. Do I need to reboot ?

I'm unsure about the setup in the HS, it's hard to guess what is what
In IP Telegramme/Absender, which is the Absender ? the one I'm beaming at, or the one in the technical room which has the DB ?

In IP Telegramme/Emfangen, I don't understand this page (10/12), it's 3 times the same stuff
i.e. (slimdevice,play) is that a free text or does it need to match what has been typed in the IRTrans ?

The last tab, Befehle is OK I guess.

There are too many possibilities to try them all

OK, what I type in IRTrans GUI are to be considered as a keyword and typed literally the same in the HS IP Empfang (kind of Webabfrage). This could have been mentionned in the doc.

I was using the IRTrans GUI Send command to test the setup, seems not to work, although the real remote control does work. I've been caught.
