How to switch between Radiators Heating actuator and Air Conditioning

    Hello,

I have MDT Glasstaster Smart II which are controlling radiator valves through an MDT AKH actuator and
I’m installing a Mitsubishi Air Conditioning ducted system with an Airzone unit with it’s KNX gateway.

The air conditionning will probably never be used for heating.

I’m trying to find how to control with the Glasstaster Smart II the AKH actuator when heating and the Airzone when cooling
so the air conditioning is not trying to heat or cool when the radiators are working.
If possible using on the Glasstaster only one thermostat and one mode button.

I have home assistant running but if possible I’d like to avoid the heating to need computer/server.

What is the solution for this?
I tried to search a solution online but I guess my search terms aren’t enough accurate.
    Thanks

Very warm wellcome to this forum!
Key is the AKH actuator: You can
    • set the Operating mode to Heating and Cooling,
    • select Heating system := 4 pipe / 2 circuit (Heating and Cooling separately),
The AKH implements a dead zone for the setpoints to prevent concurrent heating and cooling.
The object connections to your KNX gateway is the next hurdle to jump over.

      Hello,

      Thanks for your help.
I did the configuration of the AKH as you described but I don't see which elements of the AKH channel can be linked to the KNX gateway.
I attached the settings available for the gateway and the ones available with the AKH.
I guess I'm missing something in the way this has to be configured to avoid the Airzone to heat or cool when the radiators controlled by the AKH are working.
I'm quite new to this, I'm not sure if the AKH has to control anything to the Airzone KNX gateway or if just has to control the heat then 'sleep" when turning to cooling without any interaction with the Airzone's KNX gateway.

      Thanks

MDT AKH actuators exist in different versions with variant setting posibilities: AKH-0x00.03, AKH – 0x00.02 and AKH – 0x00.01

Taking one device to chose the setpoint value of the temperature you get one group address "temperature setpoint". You connect this group address to the AHK for heating and to your Airzone KNX gateway for cooling.

Two principles to avoid heating and cooling at the same time are:
        1. Using the setpoint temperatures: Above 24 °C ist cooling and below 22 °C is heating for example; a temperature dead zone is key for success.
        2. Using On/Off control in the Airzone KNX gateway and enable signal like summer/winter in the AKH. This can be the same KNX signal = group address if you use summer = 1 / winter = 0. The selection between heating and cooling can be done automatically by temperature or by calendar or manually with a push button.
