KNX/EIB Control underfloor heating - What do I need

I'm not so good in german so I write in english ( if there already is a answer in german please link so I can use google translate )

We are building a new house with underfloor heating (water, not electric).

What do I need for controlling this for my KNX system? (some kind of controlvalve for the water flow and thermostats in each room I suppose)

    Dear Martin,

I recognize you as a good customer of Voltus

    You need:

Voltus Elektro Shop | EBERLE TS+ 5.11/230 thermischer Stellantrieb 230V | Günstig online kaufen / bestellen..

Voltus Elektro Shop | MDT AKH-0800.01 Heizungsaktor 8-fach, Reiheneinbaugerät | Günstig online kaufen / bestellen..

The MDT includes heat regulating. So if you use switches with temperature sensors you wont need expensive switches with room temperatur controller.

Feel free to call Mr Lindner or Weise on monday for further questions ( i am on holidays).

Besides the recommended hardware, you might want to have a look at this thread.
Some posts about adjusting the PI parameters in case of underfloor heating (water) are very interesting

        hi,

in general you can say, that you will need 5 steps/devices to control your heating.

        1. A temperature sensor measuring in the area which you want to control (can for example be integrated in a room controller)

        2. A control logic engine which calculates the valve opening amount.

        3. An actuator which uses the opening amount to control the valves

        4. An electrical Valve for your heating system. (Most people here use 230V because you don't need an additional transformator)

        5. An interface to control the room temperature.

So now its up on you, to decide how you want to combine these elements. There are lots of possibilities an different ways.

1+2+5 are often integrated in room controllers. So that you would just need 3+4 if you have such controllers.

The MDT Actuator Voluts recommended combines 2+3 an just needs a temperature value. Many people here combine this device with an "Wiregate multi function Gateway" (WireGate Home page) because of the solid quality, but cheap temperature sensors which you can buy for 1 Wire. (round about 12€ per sensor/room). Additionally they just need the valves. 5. Can be done with every computer using the comet Visu, or ETS.

There are also KNX control valves (3+4 combined). I don't know them very well, but i bet they are expensive... .

So i hope this helps you

Thanks all for the replys, now I think I got the hang of it.

VOLTUS: The products you suggested is there any chance of them changing in the near future? We are not needing them until september but I save the links so I can find them
