    LS touch proximity sensor

Hey folks. Is there anyone here that has a Jung LS touch in use? If so, can you confirm whether the proximity sensor on the device works at all? Either by turning off the screen saver or standby mode on approach, and/or by providing output to the group address linked to group object #7 - proximity sensor activated.

I have had now gone through two LS touch devices that have a non-working proximity sensor, even though it was turned on and a group address was linked to object #7. No output, but it also doesn't turn off the screen saver or exit standby mode on approach.

That leads me to suspect this is a software issue, not a hardware fault. I can keep replacing them, but if this is a software issue and the proximity sensor simply won't work on any device, that's pretty senseless..

So, it seems this is a generic issue. E-mailed Jung earlier today after doing more extensive testing (Bare device config in both ETS6, ETS5 and both the English and German versions) and not being able to get the proximity sensor to work at all.

Just got a reply back from Jung that they came across an issue in hardware version 4.0 of the LS-Touch and they stopped shipping the device because of this at this point in time. Earlier hardware versions work as expected.

You would expect a test for the proximity sensor to be included in a standard regresiion test on hardware changes.

Jung has published firmware version 1.031 which has fixed this issue. Proximity sensor on HW4.0 now works as it should.
