Hi good evening,
I have a questions regarding the applicable topology for a IP based backbone and two areas.
Reason behind this is that I want to add a workshop/shed to my existing house KNX system. This shed a a separate power connection so I do not want to use Twisted Pair.
In the workshop/shed I only require a single KNX line.
As I see it there are two possible topologies (see schematics attached):
Topology 1: IP Router 2.0.0 (Area coupler), TP devices on main line within shed
Topology 2: IP Router 2.1.0 (Line coupler). TP devices on Line 1
- is it correct for me to assume both topologies are possible?
- are there any pros / cons to either of the two?
Thanks alot!
Regards
Hubert
