    Hi,

I've read and understood Jonofe's arguments about http_get and http_post.
I've read and understood Taxus's samples.
    I'm still confused
Under -"Web-Seiten/IP-Geräten", I can't see any place where I could specify the method either http_get or http_post.

There is like a contradiction, unless there is something to specify outside the scope of "Web-Seiten/IP-Geräten" ?

The 2 commands which I'm unable to execute are the brigthness and text display, exactly as mentionned by Jonofe.

Any hint about how to make them run on the HS, please ?

The new version of IE has blocked this kind of syntax.
You can try another browser instead.

    Hi,

Anyone knows de correct syntax for supplying the credentials in the URL ?
    The
does not work when typed in the command line of IE8. I thought I've been using this some time ago, and it was working.

NB: When supplying the credentials in the "Web-Seiten/IP-Geräten" menu, it does work, of course.

    Thnak you

PS: in your sample, there seems to be a space between the "7" and "&apply". Is it so ?
Hi Warichet I can answer: no space in URL's

    Hi Taxus,

So far, I'm able to control the following with my HS: Volume, Favorits.

    Zitat von Taxus Beitrag anzeigen
here some examples from my HS-"Web-Seiten/IP-Geräten" menu (field "URL"):

    Brightness:
    /admin/cgi-bin/admin.cgi?f=display_brightness_active&brightness=7 &apply=yes
Brightness seems to be a problem, any hint ?
I noticed some samples with apply=yes other with apply=Verwenden. It seems there is a language dependance here. According to the status, my MP is in french, so I tried apply=oui, but pfff, no luck.
Can you confirm that the brightness is set from within the -"Web-Seiten/IP-Geräten" menu ?

    Thank you

PS: in your sample, there seems to be a space between the "7" and "&apply". Is it so ?

    Hi Taxus,

Thank you for the concrete examples

Are you making a difference between http get & posts ? or does one type fit them all in the HS ?

    Thank you

some commands (brightness and show_clock) are issued by a HTTP_POST, which means the data is sent as it is done when you send an HTML form and not like calling an URL as you try.
    Point taken !

    Zitat von jonofe Beitrag anzeigen
you have to do the correct encoding of the URL, which means instead of an § you have to specify %A7.
OK. I've blindly used the examples from the thread, not really knowing what I'm doing (heck, as usual ). Normally, I RTFM, but here ? no FM ;-)
Nevertheless, it doesn't work, probably for the reason you mentionned.

favorites URL should be: (e.g. switching to favourite 6)
    http:/<IP>//admin/cgi-bin/admin.cgi?f=favorites&n=../favorites.html&a=p&i=6
    This one works fine, thanks

    Zitat von jonofe Beitrag anzeigen
    Text Display
try the correct encoding of all special characters as mentioned above.
    No luck, let's forget it

    Zitat von jonofe Beitrag anzeigen
    Volume:
Your URL is correct and for me it works up to v=20 which is the maximum volume.
    This one works fine, thanks

    Zitat von jonofe Beitrag anzeigen
    Set Brightness
it will not work by calling an URL.
Indeed, although I swear it was working with the previous FW.

    Zitat von jonofe Beitrag anzeigen
But the HS is able to generate POST commands, therefore I think it will work with the HS.
OK, the reason I'm testing with the Explorer is to avoid the 36 reboots of the HS

    Hi Raymond,

here some examples from my HS-"Web-Seiten/IP-Geräten" menu (field "URL"):

    Brightness:
    /admin/cgi-bin/admin.cgi?f=display_brightness_active&brightness=7 &apply=yes

    Favorites:
    /admin/cgi-bin/admin.cgi?f=favorites&n=../favorites.html&a=p&i=6

    Volume:
    /admin/cgi-bin/admin.cgi?f=volume_set&v=15&n=../now_playing_frame.html

Text: (the § works fine when sent by the HS)
    /admin/cgi-bin/ipc_send?show_list Hello World§Line 2§Line 3

Display Time: (here you have to send 'Datenblöcke')
    see Pic.

Unfortunately I have no complete list of commands. I have done some analysis on the html source and as you can see in the code, some commands (brightness and show_clock) are issued by a HTTP_POST, which means the data is sent as it is done when you send an HTML form and not like calling an URL as you try.

Additionally you have to do the correct encoding of the URL, which means instead of an § you have to specify %A7.

Therefore I think, in general the HTTP_GET commands in my scripts should work if you use the correct encoding in your URL and the HTTP_POST commands probably will not work.

    Concerning your concrete Problems:

    Favorites
favorites URL should be: (e.g. switching to favourite 6)
    http:/<IP>//admin/cgi-bin/admin.cgi?f=favorites&n=../favorites.html&a=p&i=6

    Text Display
try the correct encoding of all special characters as mentioned above.

    Volume:
Your URL is correct and for me it works up to v=20 which is the maximum volume.

    Set Brightness
This is done by the HTTP_POST command, which means, that it will not work by calling an URL. But the HS is able to generate POST commands, therefore I think it will work with the HS. Then you have to specify in the HS the POST URL and the parameters which will then be sent by an HTPP_POST call to the Musicpal.

Hope, I could help you a little bit.

If you have further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Did you try the php-Skripts I posted some days ago?
    Heuu, no.
I type the commands in the command line of IE.
I thought, if some work, they should all work, no ?

Is it really necessary to issue the commands from within a script ? (although I don't see the subtle difference)

For the moment, I'm just testing and learning. The ultimate goal is to have everything available from within the HS.

Any pointer to a list of the available commands and their syntax ?

    Hi,
I've read this thread from first to last, learned a lot, upgraded the firmware from org 1.59d to 1.67 (BETA), but still, it's not doing what I want, although I've read it should work.

Is there a doc or site where all available commands are listed with a word of explanation, and there syntax according to last firmware ?

The following commands run, no problem
    MP power-on: http:/<IP>/admin/cgi-bin/ipc_send?power_up
    MP power-off: http:/<IP>/admin/cgi-bin/ipc_send?power_down
    Debug: http:/<IP>/admin/cgi-bin/debug.cgi

The following commands have a problem
    Volume set: http:/<IP>/admin/cgi-bin/admin.cgi?f=volume_set&v=0
    I can't set a vol > 9

    Text display
    http:/<IP>/admin/cgi-bin/ipc_send?show_list%20Textzeile%201§Textzeile%202§T extzeile%203
This, command works as expected, but then another command with a different text, still displays the old one
    http:/<IP>/admin/cgi-bin/ipc_send?show_list%20zeile%201§zeile%202§zeile%203
    I guess I'm missing something

Switch to a fav, has the same problem as above
    http:/<IP>//admin/cgi-bin/admin.cgi?f=favorites&n=7/favorites.html&a=p&i=6
This, command works as expected, effectively selects radio station 7 in the fav (although I don't understand the "&a=p&i=6"). But then another command with a different fav id, doesn't work
    http:/<IP>//admin/cgi-bin/admin.cgi?f=favorites&n=3/favorites.html&a=p&i=6
although there is a short silence after sending the command, but it sticks to the old fav

I'd like to know the "clean" version of the set brigthness. I guess there is extra information on the command below.
    http:/<IP>/admin/cgi-bin/admin.cgi?f=display_brightness_active&brightness=4 &apply=Verwenden OK

Thank you for your kind help
