Hi all,
First of all I would like to apologize for writing this post in English. I’m not a German speaker/writer. However, feel free to answer in German. Google Translate helps a lot. :-)
At home, I have a Gira Doorcommunication system. I have two doorstations (for two separate doors), and a Gira TKS-IP-Gateway. Using the “DCS-Communicator” software installed on my laptop, I am able to answer calls from my door (and open them using the electric lock).
With my laptop, I move around a lot in my house. This implies that the wifi-signal gets disconnected often (out of range) and is picked up at a later stage by another wifi-access point. Often, this means that my laptop gets a different IP address as well.
When I am disconnected, the DCS-Communicator program pops up saying "No connection", which makes sense. When I am back in wifi-range, the error message disappears ("DCS-Communicator standby"). However, what I often notice is that, although everything seems normal in the DCS-Communicator program, it is not 'listening' anymore to the DCS-IP-Gateway. When someone is calling me at the front-door, the DCS-Communicator does not pop up!
I find this extremely annoying, especially since I am not aware of this 'disconnect' (people call me on my cellphone to tell them they are waiting at the front door). Only solution is to close the DCS-Communicator app and reopen it.
Does anyone has the same experience? Is a solution/workaround identified?
Thanks,
Dries
