Hi
There are IP cams available which can trigger a digital output when motion is detected.
This digital output can be conneted to a binary input on the KNX and then used by any logic on the HS.
But:
- to turn on the lights I would not rely on a IP Cam, better use a BWM.
- lots of IP cams have a integrated email function, no HS necessary

Trigger action when motion detected on IP camera
Hi,
I'm sorry if this has been asked before, I didn't find it on this forum.
I'm going to buy 2 IP-camera's, to monitor the surroundings of my home. I haven't decided on the brand/type of camera. But what I want to realise is I can use "motion detected" as a triggering mechanism in my Gira HS.
Examples:
* When motion detected - turn on light in front yard;
* When motion detected - take snapshot and save in camera archive;
Optionally: if a certain brightness treshold has been reached (e.g. 200 lux) - turn on light in front yard;
Can this be done with any IP camera? Or do I need to pick a certain brand/type?
Can anyone share experience of realising this with their HS? Feel free to respond in German (and apologies for me not being able to write in German).
Thanks!
