Hi Dries,
I'm looking to do the same with an AXIS M3114-VE camera. I chose this camera for it's size and quality. Unfortunately it doesn't have built in IR LED's for good night vision. I have lights installed near the camera so if I could switch them on when the camera detects motion the problem is more or less solved.
In the camera's manual I can set up an event based on motion detection. This can then trigger an event that sends a message via TCP to a server. The server in this case would be the Gira HS. The HS has to be set up for TCP reception and listen on that specific port.
I can then switch on the light via a KO.
I included a part of the manual from axis so you can read through it. The link to the manual is also included for reference.
Hope this helps you in setting it up if you didn't succeed yet.

Event Servers
Event Servers are used to receive uploaded image files and/or notification messages. To set up Event Server connections in your camera, go to Setup > Events > Event Servers and enter the required information for the required server type.
For details on each setting, see the online help available from each web page.
When the setup is complete, the connection can be tested by clicking the Test button (the connection test takes approximately 10 seconds).
Event Types
An Event Type describes how and when the camera performs certain actions.
Example:
If an event has been configured to detect and respond to motion and somebody passes in front of a camera, the camera can record and save images to an FTP server, and send a notification to an e-mail address. Images can be sent as e-mail attachments.
Server type Purpose Information required
FTP Server

• Network address (IP address or host name)
• User Name and Password

OMG
How many - sorry - crazy attemps to get in contact with a HS via a protocol that IS NOT IMPLEMENTED?
Why not using a camera that is able to send TCP messages? This works fine with the HS since years.
Once again: It will not work as email, not as ftp, not as EVERYTHING but TCP/UDP-Messages.Angehängte Dateien

Wel, I told my webcam to use as SMTP server the IP adress of my Gira HS, and as port I specified another port (9100). In "Receive EIB/IP Telegrams" I told my Gira HS to listen on that port. In the tab "Receive" I choose "any type of data". In the tab commands I configured the light switching (for testing).Zitat von eckerho1 Beitrag anzeigenHi
Dis you tell the HS to listen to port 25?
And no, I never did it this way.
Cheers, Holger
But this didn't help.
Alternatively, I told my webcam to send a snapshot of the image to an FTP server (again: IP of the Gira HS). But same outcome: doesn't work.
@Claus.Mallorca: thank you for your input. However, I already bought my webcam. I've looked at your spec-page, and I see "HTTP-Befehl versenden". This is probably what I need, correct? Do you have more info?

LAN-Cameras ...offer
Hello Dries,Zitat von Dries Beitrag anzeigenHi,
You mention that some IP camera's can trigger a digital output:
* Which one? I assume all Axis/Mobotix IP camera's have this?
* How do I integrate this digital output to a logic in my HS?
I am dealer of high quality LAN-Cameras of Lupus LUPUSNET HD - LE934 PoE and our cameras have all the features you are looking for..... I can offer you an User-Forum discount.... Send me a PN if you are interested!
Regards
Claus!

Hi Holger,
Did you ever successfully set up an integration between the Gira HS and a IP camera as you explained earlier?
I configured my D-Link DCS 5222L to send an e-mail to my Gira HS (using the IP of the Gira HS as the SMTP server). However, the Gira HS does not seem to pick this up...
Thanks for your input!

Hi Holger,
I understood it correctly, but my reply should have been:
You say you would *not* use this in a productive environment, could you explain why? Did you have bad experiences with this? Reliability issues? On what level?

Hi
I said "I would never implement this in a productive environment"
Reason:
This is bricolage

Hi,
Perfect, this is exactly what I needed! I'll manage to set up the integration.

Hi
Lots of things are possible....
But I would never implement this in a productive environment.
My recommendation is to feed a wire for the binary input in parallel to the network cable.
Configute the IP Cam to send a email to the HS when motion is detected.
Configure a IP telegram receiver, which has configured as a sender the IP of the cam, and as port SMTP (25) to a iKO onthe HS
Define a logic which is triggered by this iKO.
Cheers, Holger

Hi,
Thank you! This is clear now, and I realise that with this solution you don't even need the HS for many functions (e.g. "turn on lights").
However, unfortunately I'm having trouble with wiring... I have only foreseen an UTP cable to where I want to place my IP camera (who needs power via POE). So I was hoping that an IP camera would be able to send a command over the regular IP-network (my intranet), which could be picked up by the HomeServer. Foreseeing another cable to that location would be hard...
Would that be possible?

Hi
You should conect a binary interface eg:
MDT BE-02001.01 Tasterinterface 2-fach, UP, Eingänge potentialfrei-BE-02001.01
to the contact on the IP cam.
Assign the GA of this contact to a KO which is then interpreted by a logic on the HS.

Hi,
Thank you, I've read that in your first reply. I was just wandering 'how' to do this (sorry if this is considered as a beginners question).

This digital output can be conneted to a binary input on the KNX and then used by any logic on the HS.

Hi,
Thank you for your input!
I know a BWM is better for motion detection. But I don't want to install both a BWM and an IP-camera (and I really want the IP camera).
