    OMG

How many - sorry - crazy attemps to get in contact with a HS via a protocol that IS NOT IMPLEMENTED?

Why not using a camera that is able to send TCP messages? This works fine with the HS since years.

Once again: It will not work as email, not as ftp, not as EVERYTHING but TCP/UDP-Messages.

      Hi Dries,

I'm looking to do the same with an AXIS M3114-VE camera. I chose this camera for it's size and quality. Unfortunately it doesn't have built in IR LED's for good night vision. I have lights installed near the camera so if I could switch them on when the camera detects motion the problem is more or less solved.
In the camera's manual I can set up an event based on motion detection. This can then trigger an event that sends a message via TCP to a server. The server in this case would be the Gira HS. The HS has to be set up for TCP reception and listen on that specific port.
I can then switch on the light via a KO.
I included a part of the manual from axis so you can read through it. The link to the manual is also included for reference.

Hope this helps you in setting it up if you didn't succeed yet.

      Groeten

      Event Servers
Event Servers are used to receive uploaded image files and/or notification messages. To set up Event Server connections in your camera, go to Setup > Events > Event Servers and enter the required information for the required server type.
For details on each setting, see the online help available from each web page.
When the setup is complete, the connection can be tested by clicking the Test button (the connection test takes approximately 10 seconds).
      Event Types
An Event Type describes how and when the camera performs certain actions.
      Example:
If an event has been configured to detect and respond to motion and somebody passes in front of a camera, the camera can record and save images to an FTP server, and send a notification to an e-mail address. Images can be sent as e-mail attachments.
