    KNX/EIB Proper presence/movement settings

    Hi everyone.

My house is finished and I've moved this weekend.
Most of the KNX installation is ok (which is quite an achievement since I've done it myself) but I have some 'pains' mostly with the presence detectors.

I have both presence and movement detector and also both KNX and 230v detectors.

The problem is always the same: sometimes I am in the dark

Could someone point me to the proper way to set these?

    For example:
In my kitchen I have a KNX presence detector (Jung 3360-1). I've set the time to 3 minutes (or 5) and after that the lights go out and immediately goes on again (because it senses movement). What I would like it to do was to retrigger the 3 mins every time it would sense movement.

Also... in the kitchen and in the bathrooms after several off/on it just stays dark.

Also...how can I force a pushbutton to override the sensor?

Any help would be welcome because I already have my wife making nasty regards of my KNX skills

    Thanks.

    Hello Mike..

usually all Motion or Presence Detectors keep the light on as long as some Body is in the Detection Area.

Second point is, that you should change the Time after Detection to minimum 10 Minutes.

And the last point is: First you should change the parameter settings to Illumination independent for testing it for minimum 4 Weeks.

After that you should change the parameter to 50 Lux or something like that (maximum 100 Lux).

    Best regards to Portugal

      PeterPan,

      Thanks. Will try that.

Let me just ask you another thing, since you were the one which helped me the most when I asked about dimming:

I've installed a Gira 1031 00 Single channel dimming actuator 50-500W connected to 10 led fixtures. Each feixtures has a GU10 9W dimmable led spot.

The problem is that the led's dimm from 100% to about 80% and then shut off.

Assuming I won't change the gira device... what led configuration, type or number should I use to achieve decent dimming?

      Thanks again!

      Regards!

        Bom Dia Mike..

ok, first of all: The Gira Dimming Actuator is (as far as i know) not fitting with LED-Illumination. Have a short look into the Manual.

Second point is: If you use a Dimming Actuator that fits to LEDs (RTFM), then the Ballast AND the LED have to be dimmable (Look in Description of Ballast and LED).

I use in this case either MDT actuators or the dimmer produced by SE Lightmanagement

        Best Regards

The ballast and the led's are dimmable.

I'll look into those MDT actuators.

          Thanks!

Now that I've finished my house I can only afford the trip if you come walking

But if you need where to stay in Portugal... that's another story

                  &%$#&%"&$%#

These presence/movement settings are driving me mad!

I have now another problem: I have changed the sensors from 'ceiling detector' to 'presence detector'. They now work somewhat better but after some time (30 mins, 45 mins... don't know exactly) the light just goes out and even a rain dance under the sensor won't turn the light back on. I have to go to the push button and switch it on manually.

                  What's wrong??
