    HS/FS AjaxVisu

    Hi,

Would someone be so kind to list the steps needed, in order to have a working AjaxVisu ?

    Knowing that:
    * the AjaxVisu has been correctly installed
    * a classic Visu is already in place, is working fine and should not be altered

It has been said that the Visu should be "pushed to the HS", no idea on how to do that.
The doc says that both Visu could coexist, but an example would help.

    Thank you for your patience.

btw, yes, I've RTFM but still no clue

This is a rather quick shot, but of no help to me.

With such a little doc about the product and no help from the forum, I give up.

Mr. administrator, please delete this useless thread.

Hey Raymond, no, you won't give up !

I expected your answer in the other thread to be answered, so I din't respond earlier.

"Pushing the Visu" simply meant to install your Experte-Project on the HS once again after installing the Ajax-AddOn to your Experte-PC. You don't have to change anything with your project.

After "programing" your HS (if it sounds more familiar), you can use two different calls to access the Visu:

http://<HS-IP>/hs to access your known Visu
http://<HS-IP>/opt/hsav/start.htm to access it via the AJAX way.

That it, if you won't use any new features and just want to check the Visu.

Everything else (placing two new elements for the Visu size and for pop ups) or using different start files (startgast.htm) is a second step.

Don't get frustrated, doesn't fit to you .

        Regards,
        Hartmut

          Here chaoses nobody immediately resigns!
A Popup window is determined by the symbol "XXPOPUP" with reference to size.
It can (start-guest).htm, is adjusted at will.

            Hi Raymond

I'm glad you raised those questions - thank you.
I have the same issue, but so far I did not spend the time for dedicating myself to it.
I'm glad that this thread is now available, so I can reference to it as soon as I will assign some time for the Ajax stuff.

With the best regards from Switzerland
            Franco

Has someone been able to use the "startgast" option ?

I've typed in the startgast.htm file the same data I use with the normal "start" option, but I get an error message.
The message makes me think that the data is wrong, but can't see what's wrong.
              startClientEx('guest', 'guest', 'gira1024', 'R1', 0);
              Also, in the doc,
sometimes it is mentionned startgast.htm sometimes startgast.html
sometimes it is startgast.htm sometimes startgast.htm/

PS: no need to slam the door on my face again, I've RTFM twice

Exists the User guest with password guest in your HS-Project ?
Are the user-grouprights correct for User guest ?

                  Yes
When I use the "start.htm", I type in
                  guest
                  guest
                  gira1024
                  R1
and it works, the same way as if I used the HS client

Hence my question, is this supposed to work ? I tried several combinations uppercase / lowercase, nada

I think that empty-signs are missing.Try it with:

                    startClientEx('Gast', 'Gast', 'GIRA1024', 'R1', 0);

                      Try it with:
                      startClientEx('Gast', 'Gast', 'GIRA1024', 'R1', 0);
Indeed, it works with the extra spaces removed.
NB: I didn't create this file, just edited it, sooo...
The doc is correct for this particular point, no spaces in the sample.

                      Merci

Just to explain this part: The naming of the start file doesn't matter. In fact, you should rename it to whatever filename you like. All files in this directory will be transfered to the HS, so a "a22jasd2d9JAww.htm" is fine, as there are passwords in the file nobody should get by accident.

Dacom has a document explaining, that it's a good idea regarding safety to rename the startgast-file (not only copy it to a new name !) if your HS is reachable from the internet. The article is about pocketvisu, but it's the same with the AjaxVisu.

                        Regards,
                        Hartmut

Now that I've the thing working, I ask myself: "What next ?"

I guess if I want to use the new feature provided by the AjaxVisu, I better re-do it from scratch (I've just done it 6 months ago) and use rather small icons as in Uwe's example. I wonder if those icons have the appropriate size for an EloTouch.

Also, I've read in another thread that something "new" is coming in october, ok fine, does that mean re-doing the whole stuff again ?

                            Than you for any insight.

Yet another question about the AjaxVisu.
If I implement the new function POPUP, does it have any impact when the Visu is seen via the classical way, Internet or HS client ?
I guess the answer is no, but I want to make sure before messing around. I want the classical way to be available at all times.

                              Thank you.
