    KNX/EIB Arcus DMX Configuration

    Hi All,

    Apologies I don't speak German hence have to type in English.I am trying to configure arcus KNX-DMX gateway and finding few difficulties.

    I have looked through the forum trying to get an answer and the google translate does not do a good job and i am finding it difficult to understand. So apologies for asking a question which i know has been answered here before.

    My question:

    I have 3 DMX drivers controlling 3 separate light circuits (the drivers are addressed as 1,2 and 3)

    I have set a dummy application with the address 1.4.5 in ETS

    Now all i need to do iS dim these lights up/down individually via a switch/pushbutton.

    Am i right in saying:- for example to switch on/off and to dim channel 1 driver

    S1=6(Main group address)
    S2=0
    S3-0

    GA for on/off:
    6/2/1

    GA for dimming:
    6/4/1

    GA for value:
    6/0/1

    is this correct?

    Now my next question:
    So what is the use of the configuration tool?if i am able to control and create scenes outside it?

    I really hope someone answers my questions and clarifies my doubt. Thanks in advance

    Hi Vimal,
    it's quite a time ago since i configued my DMX Gateway. Lets see what I can remember. With S1 you are defining the Main Group Address. In you case 6.

    Than you are using GA 6/2/x sending the value in scene 8 for address x to the driver. If address x in scene 8 is set to 100% this is waht is usually called "switch" but if your scene 8 contains 0% you will not see any effect.

    I started with the config tool in oder to play a bit with the sliders and testing if the wireing and addressing is correct. Than I set 100% to all channels in scene 8 and saved that scene.

    This where my first steps.

    Regards and good luck.

      Thanks.

      Thanks for the reply. It worked perfectly. Only thing to remember was if driver is set at channel:1 then the group address should be zero. But bit of playing around and I got it working. Cheers for the reply.

      Vimal.
