HS/FS Ipad loosing connection after standby

    Hello all,

Sorry for posting in English, since my German is not that good :-)

I have a HS installed at one of my costumers. We are using the visu (no Quad).

The home is controlled from an Ipad Air.

But after standby, the visu is not responding anymore. It seems that the TCP connection was closed.

The only way to get it working again is to close the visu (browser).

Anyone an idea where I go wrong, or what can be done to get this solved?

Many thanks and a happy new year to all of you.

    Koen

    Hello Koen,

do you use the "Ajax Visu" mode or the "normal" mode ?

    ip/hs (ip/shs)

    or

    ip/opt/hsav-gira/startgast.htm?user=USER&pw=PASSWORD&cl=GIRA1024V&r ef=R1 (for example)

      Hello Andree,

I use the Ajax mode, no username and password in the URL.

Those details are in the ipad.htm.

        Hello Koen..

that's a Problem with Apple Devices. They loose the TCP/IP Connection during Standby. If you reactivate the Apple Device, it is possible that another Device received the former IP Address.

So you need to deactivate WLAN shortly in Options and activate it again. Then the Device will receive a new DHCP Address.

        Hope it helps alittle

This is a well known problem of iOS 8.0 - but don't worry: you just need to upgrade to the newest Version! With iOS 7 it works well and with the newest version (8.1?) the problem is solved also.

            Hi,

Thanks for the feedback concerning IOS 8.

I was sure that it worked before, but don't know when my customer upgraded it's IPAD.

We'll upgrade to IOS 8.1 and I'll keep you guys posted!

            @Peter.

Might be possible too... But every IP address has a "lease time" from the DHCP server. After x percent of the leasetime, the DHCP server will send a new lease offer to the device. And normally the same IP address will be assigned to the device. Chances are small that this might be the case here, also because it happens every time the IPAD resumes from standby (even after 10 minutes).

But many thanks for looking for a solution!!!

              Hi,

Just to let you know that we upgraded to the last IOS 8.1.2 version, but connection is still closed after Ipad returns from standby.

Ok... So I think you've got a network problem or something else is wrong with your configuration. I'm working on my own implementation of a "Homeserver" and my visualisation is based on Ajax too. My iPad/iPhone (iOS 8.1 / 7.0) reconnects very reliable after standby - maybe there's a bug in the (very depricated...) Gira Ajax-Script?!

I'm not using any original HS, I'm a coder working on my own "homemade" HS...

Ok! I'll upgrade the firmware anyway on my next customer visit to version 4.2.

Anyone who has other things I can check to troubleshoot this issue?

                      Thanks.
