English: Some HS and Dali questions

Hi.

First I would like to send a big thank you to the forum for providing a lot of useful information. I don't speak any german, so I have to use "translate.googl.com" to understand and read stuff in the forums, but it's hard for me to search...

I live in Norway and up here KNX is not a lot used, especially in homes, and information is not easy to obtain. I therefore have some questions, and you all may answer in german if you like.

1. Does anyone know of any good english KNX forums?

2. I would like to use the Homeserver because of it's functions, but my main consern is the stability. I work offshore on an oil-rig and stay at work for 14 days in a row. My wife and children are home alone, and any problems with the Homeserver will be difficult to correct until I get home. So, as a general rule, how often does the Homeserver crash?

3. I want to use Dali transformers and a KNX/Dali gateway. Is there any increased delay when using Dail with KNX as opposed to just KNX-dimmers?

4. Are there any disadvantages using KNX/Dali-gateway? Less options, flexibility, programming..

2: never (unless you do something strange in programming)
3: not really
4: two systems, programming a little bit more compley. Advantage: lower costs for Dali dimmers, LED dimmers only available for DALI, not for KNX.

Although this is mainly a german language based forum, feel free to ask your questions in english! This will be no problem at all!

As far as I know, there haven´t been any stability problems with the HS, except with a limited series of power supplies, which is fixed now.
My four HS are running 24 hours for several years now, without any problems. The oldest one is more than 8 years old.

I´m sure that you have access to the internet on the rig, so remote programming and access to your HS is possible.
