Gira Home Server-Visualisierung

hallo...da ich mit visualisierung bisher noch nicht das geringste zu tun hatte, hätte ich nun eine frage zum gira homeserver!!!
welche funktionen bzw. aufgaben hat der gira home server bei der visualisierung! d.h. warum brauche ich denn home server...hager hat zum beispiel eine 15" visualisierung die auch ohnen irgendeinen server läuft und auf der ich auch ziemlich viel realisieren kann!!! zudem ist auch auf den ganzen dingern windows embedded installiert....welche programme laufen denn da überhaupt auf dem home server, touch client, usw.??
freu mich auf antworten von euch um ein bisschen licht ins dunkle zu bringen!

habs gesehen nachdem ich den beitrag verfasst hab .....so wie ich das jetzt verstanden habe ist der home server in verbindung mit einem touch pc (z.b. den von pro face)...eine bereits vorinstallierte lösung im bereich visualisierung.
D.h. ich könnte mir auch einen "stinknormalen" pc hernehmen, dort geeignete Programme installieren und auf dem meine Visualisierung laufen lassen?
hat schon jemand erfahrung mit dem touch pc von hager gemacht? was würdet ihr bevorzugen...hager oder gira?

When speaking about Visu, one should make a fundamental difference between KNX devices and "others"

A Visu based on a KNX device is designed to manage/display KNX devices. That's fine if that's what you wish.

A Visu "other", like those based on the HomeServer can of course display all KNX objects, but can do much more.
In my case, I display the weater forecast (3 day and 12 day), current exchange rate $/€ and rolling news.
So it is seen as domotics at large, with noticeable gain in comfort as opposed to purely technical KNX management.

NB: Hager is about to release DomoVea v2 which is also based on a server to be put on DIN rail, sooo....

Gira Home Server and touch screen PC?

Hello!

And sorry that I'm writing in English (my german skills aren't that good).

I'm currently in the middle of building process for our new home. The home automation system is based on KNX.

I'm thinking about getting Gira Home Server 3 to operate and control KNX devices. Plus it offers remote control via internet, IP security cams etc.

The question, which might have answered here earlier, is: Am I able to use any touch screen PC (or any PC) to access the Home Server inteface? By interface I mean the one which is show in Gira's web page about Pro-face Server Client 15 ?
What are the requirements for the PC? Just a web browser or a windows application?

According to the brochure, any PC should be OK but I want to be sure.

Yes, any device with a webbrowser will do!

Now I have to start hunting down all possible devices with touch screen 10-15". I'd rather not run any MS-based OS due security issues. Maybe Android, Linux distro or OS X.

That's right. Framework 3.x required.

In QC, nearly everything is predefined. So you will have a nice result after a short time.

But ten days later you will realize, that designers of QC do not really know the needs of modern smart building. Plenty of mistakes, failures, incompatibilities. So you will go to the old version of visu which need a little more of work, but it has maximum flexibility.
