    KNX/EIB ETS4 and RS232

    Hello,

While troubleshooting ETS4 and the serial communication (W7 32), I've deleted the RS232 port.
I thought I could re-create it for a fresh start.
It seems the RS232 is no more a choice in the list of interfaces, even after a reboot

Any hint about how to fix it ?

Du hast wohl nur die konfigurierte Verbindung gelöscht.
Unter Einstellung - Kommunikation Button "Neu" einfach wieder eine Konfiguration anlegen.

      Yes, that's what I thought

Well, that's the problem, the option "RS232" is no more available, even after PC reboot KNX-RS232.jpg

Jetzt wäre es interessant, wo Du was gelöscht hast.
Wird die Schnittstelle im Gerätemanager von Windows noch angezeigt oder existiert das Problem schon auf OS-Ebene?

          .
I've deleted it on the page 'Settings / Communication" where all interfaces are listed

Wird die Schnittstelle im Gerätemanager von Windows noch angezeigt
          Yes, of course.
In fact, I first checked the Device Manager (ok), then with a RS232 loopback connector I tested the port with PutTTY (ok)
After that, having no result, I deleted the port hoping to re-create it from scratch
I tried also from a cold start, no go
NB: the flag "enable automatic scan on serial ports is checked", so, imho, the port should have shown-up at the next reboot.

Just for you to laugh ...
I've this ETS4 license in the drawer since 2 years, I thought it should be stable by now :-)

Its not and most likely never will be. But ETS5 - though it also still has some bugs - is a big improvement.

You best just get an USB Interface.

Would someone be so kind to provide me with a working copy of
              C:\Program Files\Common Files\EIBA sc\Falcon\FalconConnectionManager.config (it is a text file)
By "working" I mean with a configured RS232 port

If not possible, just the XML statements are OK

              Thanks in advance

                  Hallo,

Indeed, some COM ports are listed, but I cannot create a new one from the drop down list
I tried the COM ports, they are editable but no go with the test

                  Thank you very much.
