    HS/FS Nuvo integration

    Hi,

I'm looking at installing a multiroom audio system. I've looked at several solution but my preference goes to the Nuvo system. I've compared Russound, Netstreams, Crestron, Nuvo and a few others. I just like the OLED screens of the NUVO so much better then the Russound ones.

So I decided to go with the Nuvo Grand Concerto. I haven't bought the system yet so other suggestions are still welcome. They need to be well argumented to change my mind.

Anyway. I would like to integrate it with my HS and my Philips Pronto remotes. I have a TSU9800 where I am writing some script for to control my house through the HS. I have some success but it's not quite ready yet. Time is a stopper. But I keep that for another topic.

Has anyone integrated a Nuvo system into an HS visu? It has an RS232 port and receives ascii commands so it should be fairly easy to sent commands but I would like to have some feedback as well.
I found a company in Belgium, with the help from Gira Belgium, who has written a logic unit for the Nuvo. They have one for sale with feedback from the tuners. They are still working on the music port server, so that will be available soon. The only downsite is that they are asking 600 euro excl. VAT for the module without the programming for the HS.
So my question is, has somebody else have a workable solution?

    Hi Marco,
I'm quite familiar with the Pronto Series and KNX. See my web site Philips Pronto und KNX / EIB.
I control the bus with a simple IP gateway, not through Homeserver, and here some new screenshots of the development for Room Temperature Controller.

Well, I've done also some GUI and IP script for a Audio/Video Multiroom Controller.
It is the MRC of Komtech, see KOMTECH Kommunikationstechnik GmbH - products and news.
This controller provides also a KNX interface. That means you can also control it from any KNX button, or homeserver.

If you like this system, I can provide you the script.

Come to the light and building fair to the KNX booth! I will have this system over there with Pronto and KNX interface.

    Best regards

wir haben ARAGON entwickelt, einen offline Sprachassistenten für KNX.

Google, Amazon und Apple hätten das auch gekonnt. Aber sie verdienen eben besser an unseren persönlichen Daten...

      Hi Michael,

I've visited your website before when I started with the Pronto. I was very impressed but didn't want to add yet another module to the system since I already had bought the HS. The HS can do the same, it just needs to be programmed to do so. The solution with the BOAS module is easier and you've written a prontoscript which is very nice. I really like what you did with the graphics. Nice job. I still hope one day you do the same for the HS. My programming skills need a lot of improvement to achieve what you're doing.

Anyway. Regarding the Komtech solution, I don't know. I could use the extra 2 zones for sure but I don't need the video capability.
The big stopper is for me that there are no displays to show me metadata. I've seen solutions to do this with the switches from Jung. They have a way to show text. Unfortunatly I have all Gira TS2 and TS2+ installed and I don't want to change all my switches.

The Nuvo OLED are very nice and give me control over the new music server or even a Casatunes server. I believe, if I got it right, that the new music server has a built in webserver and can control the Grand Concerto through the browser. That would be a nice solution! I'll ask Nuvo.
The HS sends commands to the Nuvo music server and controls the Grand Concerto zones from a touchscreen, the OLED or just switches, all over IP. No need for Moxa converter!
I small webbrowser for the HS could solves this. Maybe I'll try the HSBrowser from Alfred.
There's even a Nuvo module for the Pronto. I'll have to look if it also controls the Music server or just the Grand Concerto.

PS The webserver in the music server just came to my mind. Still brainstorming "What and How"
