Have you had problems with your KNX installation that took you a long time to understand ...

I have and mainly todo with Heating

On Saturday morning I came down to the kitchen and the temperature there was 25.5 degrees (setpoint 21)

Why! The Gira Thermostat was showing a setpoint of 21 degrees .. but my Theben HMT Was putting out 50% heating to the zone.

Using KNXMonitor.com which is hooked up to my house I quickly realised that there was a heating timeout from the Gira Thermostat .. i.e the Thermostat had stopped sending out heating calls. (Something I blame Gira for)

I quickly pulled the Gira Thermostat off the wall and plugged it back in... and it started sending messages again ...

This was quickly fixed due to the fact I have all the data points on KNXMonitor.com so it was quick to diagnose.

Yes thats right. I have Telled this a Long Time to Gira , but in there official opinion they say thats all is ok.

Ergänzen möchte ich zum Beitrag von Kim J, dass er vergessen hat zu erwähnen, dass er Direktor jener Firma ist, die den KNXMonitor herstellt und vertreibt. Dass wir diese Form von Werbung nur sehr bedingt gut finden, haben wir bereits mehrfach erwähnt, oder?

Hi Matthias .. I would also like to point out that KNXMonitor Provides a "free" level of service for any integrator that need to debug a house. Finding the issue I pointed out above would have been very difficult without being able to pinpoint the source of the problem. Something our users say all the time. Most of our users are using our service Completely free of charge. Also would like to point out that this is a good way to collect evidence that there is an intermittent problem with Gira thermostat, stopping sending heating messages.
