Gira 234300 - Smoke detector module, parameter

    Hello,

I'm configurating a couple of Gira 2343 00, the KNX module for smoke detectors but I'm not sure how to configure the networking between detectors.

The com-object #5 is described in the manual as:
"Smoke alarm devices are networked with one another via KNX using this communication object. Depending on the object value, the alarm is also activated via the 2-wire bus."

But from what I understand, this is only an input, not output as well?

Should I just create a group adress called "smoke network" e.g and connect to all com-object #5 and it's all set? or must I connect the Alarm output (com-object #0) GA to all com-object #5?

The manual is a little bit confusing regarding this, in my opinion.

I also wonder if com-object #0 is triggered if ALL criteras are checked, or if its enough with only one of them?

The manual says: "This is triggered by a local heat alarm, a local smoke alarm and an alarm received via the networking terminal"
It does say AND, not OR / EITHER..

    Thanks!

I called the Gira hotline today, they told me that Com-object #5 is only an input.
So I have to connect a GA between com-object #0 to object 5#.

But according to the manual the auxilary smoke detector will when received a 1-bit on object #5 output an alarm on object #0 aswell, so wouldn't it be a infinite loop that never ends? If you guys understand what I mean.

Have anyone here used the 2343 module that could help me out a bit?

I have These moduls but only 2. One for downstairs, one for upstairs. And the last of each line one modul. So I connected them via the objects 5 and 0.

Inside the manual there is mentioned, that the object 5 is for connect smoke detectors via KNX.

Object 5 routes the alarm to the 2 wire Bus. Object 5 doesn´t trigger object 0 imho.

        Thanks for your reply!
So you have more than 2 detectors, but only 2 KNX modules?
I have KNX module in every smoke detector, I'm not sure what the 2-wire bus is?

About obejct #5 triggering object #1 this is what I found in the manual:

        Code:
        Funktion: Alarmfunktion
Lokalen und verdrahteten Alarm kombinieren = ja
        Meldung zyklisch senden
        Alarm senden
Objekt Funktion Name Typ DP-Type Flag*

        0
        Senden Alarm 1 Bit ETS4
        1.002

Vernetzungsklemme empfangenen Alarm. Eine „1“ wird gesendet wenn der Alarm
ausgelöst wurde. Wird zyklisch gesendet wenn „Alarm-Wiederholung“ aktiviert ist.
Hence asking if I will get a loop because if Smoke detector 1 triggers detector 2 through ovject 5, the detector 2 will output an alarm, then smoke detector number 1 will listen to this and then we got the loop?

Yes i have 15 Gira Dual within 2 lines. At the end of each line, there is one KNX Module. The smoke detectors are all connected via cable (2 wires)

The Gira Dual VDS can be connected via cable (you Need 2 wires), aside from using KNX Modules.

          I can´t comprehend your question.

Object 5 is an Input, must be triggered. And this object "routes" the Alarm to the internal 2 wire Connection and not the the KNX Connection imho

Alright, I didn't even know the 2-wire bus feature, that would have made things much more cost effective I guess.
But unfortunatly, I'm not able to route new Cables for networking, so I'll have to do it the KNX way to communicate.
But now I start to get the Point, as you say object #5 will probably not trigger object #0, so there is no problem in this matter I guess.

            Thanks for you help!
