    Gira 1018 00 + Tastsensor 3 help wanted

    Hi everyone.

I'm currently having to completely redo my entire KNX project from scratch, because I don't have a recent backup of my project files I must say that my heating setup is currently working, but not as it's supposed to do.

I have a Gira 101800 heating actuator and in my rooms (upstairs) I have the Gira tastsensor 3+ buttons

In ETS, you have to connect the multiple outputs and inputs together, but it would be very helpful if someone has a clear tutorial of how I need to do this. I'm reading trough the manuals, but this is rather complicated stuff...

If someone could make a dummy project file (ETS) with a gira 1018 and a TS3+ with the correct connections and group adresses, that would be great!

    Hi,

it depense if you use "Continuous PI control" or "2-point control". Simple: you must only connect the switching output from the TS3 to the switch input on 1018.

    Have a look at

I currently have a working system (sort of) only when I select the heating mode on my phone and select "comfort" for example, nothing happens. The nessecary connections in ETS are made, in the group monitor I see values when I press the comfort button, but it does not switch over, or it gives a totally wrong temperature...

I'm lost, that's why I asked if someone was willing to share a example project file with those 2 devices.

        well,

as i can see the output eg. for your "badcamer" is 2/0/0 "cammand value" -> to controller output 1 - should work - and that is what you was asking for.

There was no information to set up the controller... knx status or setpoint

The actual heating of the rooms does work. It senses the room temperature and adjusts the valves as needed, so that's working indeed. But in the bathroom for example, I want to be able to quickly change between temperatures.

          Example:

For normal everyday bathroom usage, 23° is more than enough, but when you want to take a shower, a higher temp is wanted My idea is, to just select confort mode in the app (let's say 26°) when you want to take a shower, and afterwards set it to standby (23°)

I assume that you have to send a numerical value to input 82 of tha TS3+, where:
          1: comfort
          2: standby
          3 night
          4: frost

But when i press the "comfort" button in the iphone app, I get "$03 | Economy" in the group monitor and the TS3+ switches to night mode instead of comfort mode.... When I press "standby" i get "$05" and nothings happens. The Actual "night" button has a value of "$08" according to the group monitor..

Something is really off in my settings, only I can't seem to find out what

that shows only, that your app is sending the wrong value or that it is the right value but not konnex conform...

It is not the numerical value, it is the bit that defines the state. So, comfort is 1 (first bit is '1'), standby is 2, night is 4 and frost is 8 (so, only the fourth bit is '1'). (The attachment is a snippet from the Gira manual for this device).

Thanks... So where should I be looking for the solution? According to all of the manuals I can find, the ETS part is setup correctly, so I assume there has to be something configured incorrectly in Expert/QuadConfig?

I have these settings standing by to upload when I am sure that everything is going to work

Well, I don't use the QC so I can't be of much help there. Check the group monitor (or EIBMON) to see which values are being sent. If it is 1/2/3/4 instead of 1/2/4/8 then the problem is with the configuration of that button in the QC. Someone with expertise in that area then has to jump in and help...

ok, so your "problem" is not to connect the group adresses, your problem is how is the config für QC

have a look at attached pdf

I've checked the PDF document that you mentioned, all settings seem to be the same as mine:
                        - operation mode switchover: 1 byte
                        - Status: KNX conform

Below is a screenshot of the group monitor in ETS, while pressing the 3 buttons in the Gira app (confort/standby/night) , where Confort gives "3", so it goes to night mode, instead of Comfort mode.

When I change the status directly in ETS, then it works fine. So I assume it has to be going wrong in my current HS3 settings on the server itself? (maybe there the checkox "KNX Compliant" wasn't checked? I have no idea anymore, as I don't have that .hs3 file anymore...

Allready thanks for trying to help me out...

                          ok, at last two hints:
                          • try not checking "KNX Konform" in QC
                          • have a look at GA Type in HS - is it 8 bit EIS 2,6 or is it 8bit RTR Status ?

                            - KNX Conform: will have to try
                            - GA Type : 8 Bit EIS 6 (not 2,6)

Now I'm completely lost... I was at the point that I was ready to transfer the current Expert settings over to the HS3, but then I got a message, saying that my firmware was not up to date.

So far no problem, I was expecting that because the last fimware update was 4.2.xxxx and now I'm working in Expert 4.5.

So I go to to "homeserver -> upload firmware", expecting to get the typical window, where you can select the firmware file on the right, but instead I get this window???

Maybe the universe is telling me to just stop...
