Presence detection for bathrooms

Hello,

I need to choose presence detectors for my bathrooms and toilets, and the primary concern is reliability and sensitivity of the detection. What I most certainly do not want to happen is lights going out when my wife decides to read a book while taking a bath.

Bathrooms sizes are:
1) 3.5x3.5m
2) 3.5x1.8m
2) 3.5x1.8m

For my experiments, I got Steinel IR Quattro HD and set it up in my living room. It most certainly is not sensitive enough to detect slight head or hand movements while watching TV or reading book on Kindle. Increasing turn-off time is an option, but not a desirable one... Is this a typical performance I can expect from PIR sensor, or are there, perhaps, better options?

Would the microwave sensors, like Steinel TP, require shielding the room with foil, if the room is small and walls are drywall? If the shielding has to be used, are there any foil options, that would still allow Wi-Fi, while blocking enough to stop presence detection?

What would be your best bet for good and stable presence detection in bathrooms?

After looking at the forum, I see that there are multiple reports of Steinel TP stopping working and requiring bus reset. Is that still relevant, or has this been sorted out with a more recent firmware?

Generally Steinel TP would be a great option, if it is stable, as it also has temperature and humidity, and all the required functions built-in without external logic for different behavior during night.

Yes, that is the main reason why I do not use the TP yet.
I would like to switch to the TP but I will do that only after the negative messages (long waiting time before switching on, or unstable behaviour) are definitely eliminated.

The difficulty for PIR sensors is that body and water are almost at the same temperature, so there is very little "contrast" to detect movement. You might want to have a manual switch for this special case.

No, shielding effectiveness is the same in both frequency bands (UWB and WiFi).

Tom0101 Your knowledge level is from when? Since the last update I don't know any problems anymore. The problem it hangs up is related to the update process.
