The room is intended to be used without a manual light switch and thus detection has to be very reliable. The sliding door (2.2m height, left on the drawing) connects to the master bedroom and leaving it open should not trigger lights in the wardrobe, unless someone walks really close to it.
Initially I planned to use Jung Mini Universal (3361-1 M WW) presence detector on the ceiling, towards middle of the room. This way, according to Jung manual, all of the room would be within the most sensitive area (false ceiling height is around 2.8m). Reason why I chose this detector - it is very discrete and does not draw any attention to the ceiling.
However, looking at this in the side projection, it appears, that presence detector placed in the middle will also see very far inside the bedroom, which will be an issue. This can be avoided, if presence detector is placed much closer to the door, but in that case, according to Jung manual, the other side of the wardrobe would be well outside the "fine detection at desks, e.g. mouse movements" area, but still within "typical movements at desks, e.g. torso movement".
The documentation for Jung Mini detectors does not describe any way to physically mask the detection area, however maybe thats possible? Or maybe there are similar presence sensors, which can be masked?
Any suggestions on the placement of presence detector, or perhaps ideas on other products that can be used and their placement, are very welcome.
