Ipad as a control panel for home

Hi, I plan to buy 2 ipads (one per floor) for home control solution. I planned to get Gira X1 to be the heart of the system, but I'm not sure if it would be possible to connect the door intercom to the system. I was considering 3 vendors for the doorbell camera, Doorbird, Akuvox or Dahua.

Is it even possible to integrate the Gira Home app to utilize the door stations for answering or those systems need to be separate and will not integrate nicely?

    Hi ,
you would need means of communication with the doorbell camera. It is likely the ones you named are compatible with the SIP protocol. You would need a SIP Client to receive calls from the doorbell in your LAN. Like the Gira G1. I dont know if the Gira Home App has a SIP Client integrated. You gotta read up on that.
However, Gira has an App called TKS-App (or something like that) which also offers a cloud service SIP Client with mobile availability, storage, etc.

I am myself in the market for an iPad or the G1. Not sure about it yet.

Speaking of the G1. The G1 can used as a central KNX control/Visu and a SIP Client for your doorbell and to my knowledge would communicate locally, in your LAN.
If you use a tablet, you could also use the app of the doorbell camera manufacturer.

With a tablet you are obviously much more versatile, the G1 is more specialist and geared to that.
