Picking up DALI Gateway

Hi, I will have some DALI lighting in my home, ~10 tunable white lights, 4 dimmable DALI lamps + 2-3 RGB strips. We will want to implement HCL in our home to some degree.
I'm having a hard time picking up DALI gateway to control the light, I'm trying to decide which one would be better:

- GIRA 210800 KNX DALI gateway Tunable White Plus
- MDT SCN-DA641.04 DALI Control 64 gateway with HSV control

Would be better/easier to work with? Maybe there is other gateway that I should consider? I would be buying from Voltus.
I know MDT one has some time based color setting support built in.

We also have Gira X1 in the system if thats important to implement HCL by other means.

Anyone? Or maybe it doesn't matter what I pick and every modern gateway is good?

I should also mention I plan to get either eldoled or lunatone ballasts - does that make any difference when comissioning?

Hi, load both apps into ETS and have a lock at the possible parameters. MDT works nice, but I have no comparison to Gira. Thoiugh MDT can Group adressing plus single unit adressing, you can not use both ways aon a single luminiar.

I've tried that but it seems that very little is visible without actual luminaries configured. I've been reading on this forum that some revisions of Insta gateay (Jung/Gira) were faulty but I wonder how bad it is in reality. I would assume if things would be truly bad the producers would switch to other OEM.

Did you check the dates of the complaints? KNXUF is online for quite a while, and google find also realy old stuff.

most users here uses mdt gateways and they generally work well.

i was using a lot of siemens gateways, they are very stable products. but they dont support rgbw in dt8 mode, only tw is supported, and dt6 off-course. when you need rgbw with dt8 drivers, then i recommend the mdt gw.

with gira gateways i have no experience.

I've went with MDT SCN-DA641P.04S DaliControl IP Gateway PRO64 - Gira one doesn't seem to be able to control RGB luminaries in a single address or nothing in the documentation says so at least.

I have an issue with the MDT gateways: Doing HCL is a pain as you cannot do something such as "read after tunred on" which means if that if you're doing HCL for example it first needs to pass the time that is set in the system before it applies the settings set for that time slot. Idk if the Gira is asame / alike but this is driving me bonkers!

Maybe this is something you could script with gira x1 or some other logic module? If power on set the color temperature. ( Might be talking something stupid here since I haven't tried configuring my KNX installation at all )

Nope, because I want to have it set to a certain time and not just through an event.

I think there was an option start HCL when turning on, that starts with the correct HCL value.
