What is the recommended method to extend the KNX cable, where the point of the connection will not be easily accessible?
The person laying the cable did not leave enough length and the cable is about 3m short to reach the location where the presence detector will be located. Replacing it by pulling is not an option because there are too many bends in the pipe that has already been plastered in. Running a new cable from another location would also require to tear up few meters of finished plaster. The existing cable is also too short to reach the nearest light fixture opening in the ceiling. The cable run is a end branch in the topology, so any problem with the connection would only affect one device.
I see following options to extend the cable:
- WAGO 243 (standard KNX connector)
- WAGO 221 (minimum solid cable diameter is well below that of KNX cable)
- WAGO 2273
Connectors would of course be mounted in a connection box and cables would be fixed to provide strain relief.
